Think we are coming at this from different understandings of the term 'risk'.
For me, prior to his appointment, there was clearly a 'risk' that it might not have worked out.
If you run between moving cars when crossing the road, you take a risk. The fact that you get to the other side safely doesn't mean there was no risk when you set out.
Yes we are....
Because I probably didn't word my original post very well and you seem hell bent on picking up on it?
IT TURNS OUT THERE WAS NO RISK AT ALL.......
In hindsight. ....
Of course there is a bloomin risk in the beginning, just that some thought it was bigger than others...
If you're going to get all snarky let's leave it there.
Oh no, let's not.
Go to a casino.
Put your life savings on red in roulette.
Is there a risk you will lose?
Yes.
Red comes up. You win.
Does that mean there wasn't a risk?
No, it doesn't.
What I am 'picking up on' is your suggestion that those who thought there was a risk appointing Bilic were wrong, because there was no risk, since it all worked out, which, imo, is just plain wrong.
But, like all things, next season is the big one. Plenty of one-season wonders in players and management, and next season will feel like we're away from home every week due to the new stadium.
;ok
Need to settle quickly at the OS + Trying to juggle potential european games.
Its funny looking back at post's when it was announced I was very positive then let alone now , what a season we have had thanks to this guy legend already in my mind ;ok

I have quite a few so maybe I could help ;biggrin
Seriously G man.
I said some thought it was a HUGE risk.
Of course there has to be SOME risk initially like anything.
But as per my poorly worded original post....it turns out in HINDSIGHT there was no risk.
Thats all.....it's no biggie honestly and not sure it warranted all your different scenarios......
And as for being Snarky.......
;biggin
I'll just leave that there.......
All to yourself? You and the hubby doubled up didn't you, you blighters.
;biggrin
"I cannot believe how a team can play with such little passion or commitment week in week out"
Now though, this sort of comment features regularly:
"I cannot believe how every week the referees are cheating West Ham'
;hmm
Think that's a bit dismissive of the players last year, who put in a lot of terrific shifts, and played a lot of very good football.
Second half wasn't for the lack of trying but form, injuries, decisions went against us and then it just petered out we couldn't break the cycle.....
I was just trying to re-enact some of hutton's famous quotes of previous seasons, and likewise for this year..

Top 10 would be realistic for me.

Slav says we need to stop talking about transfer targets
Sully goes and tells SkySports (he's like a kid in a sweet shop) that we're going to be bidding for two players by the end of the week
Slav says that you won't be able to recreate the Boleyn Atmosphere at the OS
Goldie says we will
;biggrin
Its good to see that not everything changes ;lol ;doh
;ok
