I also can't see the players not doing as he says.
He looks like a real tough cookie and he is just what we need on the sideline during games.
I can imagine also any player slacking at all will get a little bit of a telling off. I think he has the mentality that we need as a club to fight in and win games.
Speaking an hour before the appointment was made, he said: “Slaven looks like he’s going to be the new boss there.
“He knows the club well and I think he’ll bring back one or two of the old players to work with him on the coaching side.
“So it’s an opportunity for one or two lads he played with to do some specialist coaching and work with him in his backroom team. So all in all I think it’s a good signing.”

The first year, new squad, jelling the players, different approach, Europa plus the pressure of the last season at the OS.
If it's a total disaster (I don't think it will be) then that could be different.
3m a year......twice the basic the previous manager was on but no payoff if relegated (good). That's raised the bar a little and we could have the genuine 13th highest paid manager in the world.

I assume Valencia will get an extension due to his international games.
It's looking a bit like that. Presumably Sully has always been angling for more power in that direction ;hmm
Squad reports back Monday 22 June. (I too expect those involved in summer tournaments will have an extended break.)
