A couple of years ago most of us would have hated Paqueta to leave. Now a llot of us, myself.included, would be willing to let him go to strengthen somewhere else. -;how fickle we all are! If only they’d listen to us once in a while……..😗⚒
I am sure there are plenty of good centre backs we could sign but if they don’t suit NES way of signing players then we won’t get anyone 😉. Does Jorge Mendes have any defenders on his books?
I always thought he was a steady player. Lacking pace for sure but didn't do much wrong in an unglamorous role.
I thought he was terrible when he was in a pairing with Soucek or Alvarez, because of the shared lack of mobility. But when he’s come in to play alongside Magassa, Potts or Fernandes he’s been a good player to help steady the ship and manage games.
Obviously I understand that. I'm talking about the fact that he was regarded by pundits and fans as a hot prospect because of his performances at Leicester. To go from that to the scrap heap in 6mths is unusual.

It's the West Ham way ( especially with foreign strikers ) !!!
I don't think Hermansen was considered a hot prospect. I don't remember any reports saying there were multiple clubs fighting for his signature, and any synonyms used to describe him in the media were "Leicester's no. 1", "the shotstopper", "the Danish keeper", rather than "wunderkind", "amazing player", "this season's Allison", etc.
Unless you mean he was considered a hot propect by the West Ham recruitment team. In which case, it might be a matter of Hermansen's agent being worth his money.
