  • Tough draw for Brighton !!! I think we did ok though.
  • Can't say I know to much about the last 2 in our group
  • In the OS article they've listed all the dates for the games as their equivalents in 2021, for some reason

  • Cut and Paste strikes again. πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ
  • That's a decent draw for us imo.

Freiberg finished 5th in the Bundesliga last season, they've been in the top flight since 2009 apart from one season in the second tier. Played in the Europa League last season, knocked out of the Round of 16 by Juventus. No familiar names in the squad

Right down in the south of Germany, about 40 miles from the border with Switzerland, in the Black Forest so plenty of scope for cake jokes

TSC finished 2nd in Serbian SuperLiga. From Backa Topola, far north of Serbia. Founded in 1912 when the town was in they played in 2nd and 3rd tiers until promoted to the top flight in 2020. .
  • Black Forest eh? Have they been Bayern any good players?

    #I'll get me Lederhosen then

Not Bayern, though πŸ˜‰ Lederhosen are typical of Bavaria and Freiburg is Baden-WΓΌrttemberg. They strongly object to being called Bavarians. It would be just lile calling Mancs Scots just because it's up north.

Fine details didnt suit my pun. That said, nobody laughed anyway (except me)

All our away games are early fixtures which is probably preferable for the Sunday PL matches that follow. Marginal I know, but finishing a couple of hours earlier than a late fixture is definitely preferable given we've got flights of 3 hours or more back from Serbia and Greece.
  • Just notiched that Mubama is not in West Ham 24 named players for the group games ,Why not this could have been his chance for some games ,cant see him getting much time in prem games .Anyone know the logic in this because i dont

I'm 99% certain he doesn't need to be named / registered due to his age. Should still be eligible, just doesn't need to be listed.
  • I'm pretty much right, it's all on here

    West Ham said:

Additionally, the Club submitted List B, which is comprised of players born on or after 1 January 2002 and since their 15th birthday have been registered with West Ham for at least 24 months.

Among those on List B are Divin Mubama, who was part of the Irons’ UEFA Europa Conference League-winning squad.

There's no publication of List B, but it's likely everyone who meets that criteria.
  • List B is the kids. They still need registering to allow them to play as per FCSB and Dinamo Zagreb matches in the last two seasons.

  • Match won in gp stage seems to have changed from 500,000 last time to 630,000 this. Am I missing something? Sorry if I am.

No, although I wish you had. It is 630k but I had it as 500k for the first game in error. πŸ‘

    ** Adjusted up for error.
  • Man Utd finish bottom of their Champions League group so we won't be facing them in the Europa League at any point this season.
  • edited December 2023
Not having had to concern myself with the ins and outs or the European comps for a goodly number of years, I hadn't realised that not all the Champions League flops automatically drop to Europa League.

    I'm a bit πŸ˜‚

But I do know some people who are Man U supporters so I have a tiny ( really tiny) bit of sympathy.

    Actually, no, I don't 😬 πŸ˜†
  • I liked a comment from one poor soul who stated that he was pleased they did not fall into the Europa comp as it saves potential further embarrassment and allows them to concentrate on being mediocre in the league.

    Well it made me laugh

  • Even Rio said they can now concentrate on the league. I’m not sure if I understand what he means. Targeting 7th like us I guess. πŸ˜‚
  • Newcastle won’t be joining us either.
  • So the following drop into the Europa Knockout Round -

    Young Boys - Switzerland
    Feyenoord - Netherlands
    Lens - France
    Benfica - Portugal
    Braga - Portugal
    Galatasaray - Turkey
    AC Milan - Italy
Shakter Donetsk - Ukraine (Playing in Hamburg)
  • AC Milan will be a tough match for anyone but no other side that you would imagine being beyond us at our best. Sadly it's hard to not see Liverpool walking it in third gear this year. British clubs must be favourite for all three trophies as Villa should take the Conference and then Liverpool and City the main two.

We will need to find our form again before we can anticipate progressing to the business end of the competition, and that has to start tomorrow.
  • AC Milan the only team out of that lot to be particularly concerned about imo.
