I want to see some sort of fluidity in the performance today. Some positives to take & strong side. Moyes will come under real pressure if we don’t get the job done tonight & 3-1 is a precarious lead away from home over 90 minutes. To be out of Europe & pointless after 3 would put a lot of pressure on the team. Let’s see an improved performance from the first leg, a strong team, looking to build momentum into Villa.

I think a 2 goal lead to take away is what teams look for. No away goal rule so a tidy performance should suffice. 2-1 away win. COYI

And I feel a bit for Downes. To not get in ahead of an underperforming Soucek and Lanzini is a bit of a blow. Honestly think he could be loaned out before the window shuts.

Maybe trying to play him into form. Not sure. From an experience point of view I can kind of understand going with Soucek, but experience only counts for so much.

Which is why I'm surprised we've gone with Soucek and Lanzini in the middle. No pace and no form between them.

Unless Fornals will be the 8 and Lanzini the 10, but I don't think it changes a great deal.
