Seen that Haller knew about the interest from Ajax months ago probably why he has not exactly been putting himself about much in games recently

Ahem, I posted this on the Chelsea v West Ham thread.

You'd almost think that Haller is playing in a way so as not to get injured for the January transfer window and is hoping that Frankfurt Ajax will buy him back for half of what we paid - and then they'd be paying too much. =)

  • Broken clocks Bubbles, broken clocks. 😂
  • If king is the striker moyes wants then I’m baffled surely not there must be a better option available I’m going on he’s going to get arnie on loan and pull out a stellar signing in the summer

Snodgrass now confirmed as a West Brom player.

Again, not a huge loss in terms of impact on the first team, but another midfield option gone. Really hope they've got replacements lined up.
  • whats the betting Antonio plays against Stockport and gets injured.
  • I’ve just had to get back on my laptop and do some work for the past few hours. Just checking to see if we’ve managed to get in a striker or lwb in that time?

    No??

    Ok, as you were then.

Quite a glowing tribute for Snodders on the OS. It can’t, therefore, have been penned by Karren Brady
  • Wish Haller all the best, but pleased Moyes has been ruthless. He’s either not good enough or not interested, & both of those are not great reasons to keep a player.

Let’s hope he invests it like he has Randolph, Dawson, Coufal, Soucek, Bowen & Benrahma.
  • Haller on Ajax TV

“This is a club where I can compete in the Champions League and chase titles every season and it's that winning mentality that suits me”

So, he thought he was coming to a team that was going to compete in the Champions League when he signed for us?
If that was what he expected then you could accuse him of not doing any research on us, or maybe the offer was too good for his agent to refuse.
  • Reality probably overtook what Pelle told him would happen during their initial discussions.

It's all about the money, money, money......
  • So he came to us for the money bit harsh, allegedly taking a pay cut to leave, says something I wish him well in his new journey I’m sure it won’t be long till he’s banging them in again

good luck Seb,I am sure he will come good, not suited to us and now no longer our player he will fall off of my radar as I look forwards to players coming in (I hope).

It was a bit tongue in cheek.....however, let's be realistic, if he cant hack it in the Eredvisie, then he really is bang average.....

  • I’m glad the club is so rich we can throw away 20mm.
  • The owners have been bitten by the big fees for Haller and Anderson. I can't see them spending big again anytime soon.
  • I get that Jay but that player was there hence the write ups and videos prove, in the right set up and formation and no that’s not a dig at moyes tho I’m sure he’d prefer a successful striker to be the one he’s courted as opposed to somebody else’s cast off
  • So, our squad is now 19 players plus U21's, this is getting a bit silly.
  • I reckon sully must be desperately trying to offload anderson too and perhaps Yarmo also

He's already proved he can hack it in the Eredivise, 41 goals in 82 games for Utrecht in the two and a half seasons before he moved to Eintracht Frankfurt

You could easily argue on that perspective Big Mac was a hit at Blackburn....it's the present that counts, and on that basis he did not succeed, so he can hack it in a average league, but perhaps not a top one....>.....IMO!..

He did well enough for Eintracht Frankfurt, 24 goals in 60 Bundesliga appearances plus 5 in 10 in the Europa League.

Just think of Haller as our Shevchenko, a monster for Dynamo Kiev and AC Milan but a total failure at Chelsea.

Going to be missed massively! A top footballer and even better man! Best character in football

    good luck snods
Shame there won't be any fans when we play the Baggies
  • This report values Josh King at £15m https://www.standard.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news-live-arsenal-chelsea-fc-man-united-ramos-rice-ozil-january-latest-gossip-rumours-today-b757581.html How can that be he is an average player, in the last six months of his contract and 29 next week.. I don't think WHU should sign him now. We can save £15 and get him for free, if necessary, later in the year.

Another player linked with us is Arsenal's Eddie Nketiah.

I meant we can save £15m. twitchy fingers at this time of the year!!
  • I think for Moyes to ditch Haller before signing any sort of replacement, says all you need to know about his views on him...

But he must know we have someone coming in. Whether he thinks Haller can cut it or not is largely irrelevant when his options are as thin as they are. Antonio is always one sprint away from two months out, and I can't for one second believe an experienced manager like Moyes would willingly put us in a position where we have only one senior striker, particularly knowing that that striker has strawberry laces for hamstrings.

He must know that someone will be in before Burnley. He must do. Mustn't he?
  • Interesting that Declan tweeted about Snoddy but not Haller.
