Sky have linked us, Everton and Man U with 19yo Ecuadorian central midfielder Moises Caicedo, currently at Independiente del Valle and compared favourably with N’Golo Kante. Est. £5m but work permit could be a problem
Were are not the only club who buys strikers who don't work out Joelinton was £40 Mio and he has barely done a thing at Newcastle there was that Greek striker at Fulham a few years back who was a complete disaster. Heres hoping Moyes continues along the lines of Soucek Coufal in terms of success :-)
Perhaps so. But there probably aren’t many clubs (at least in the Prem) who have had no striker success in 10years
Depends what you mean by success mid/lower table teams don't tend to have strikers who score 20+goals a season more like 10-15 as previously mentioned Sakho Arnartovic scored goals and Fletcher was sold for a good profit. That said we have had a lot of dross aswell lol
I'm sure I posted something about our worst transfers a couple of months back, and I think that Hugill was a worse transfer financially than Savio was, but also I'm not going to scroll back through everything I've posted to find it
baracks, I am a big fan of Haller & believe it isn’t solely down to him that things haven’t worked out as we would have liked. So comparing the Savio deal with his is always going to attract a comment from me. 👍
baracks, Savio is off the scale as a disaster if you are making comparisons with Haller.
We paid £9m got back £3m odd I think and in his short time he registered an assist for a winning goal. How is that worse than, say, Hugill?
Didn't we get Manuel Da Costa in that deal as well? Savio was supposedly our record deal at the time, so it seemed bad but it wasn't long until we were regularly smashing the record. Have any of our record buys been good?
Carroll was a record buy and he was good. Was Diop a record until we signed Anderson, or did we get Anderson first? Either way I guess neither of them have been that good, actually.
Surely we have not sold someone and then not agreed a fee with a club for a replacement ? surely we would not have done that to scramble for a player and watch the fee jump up.

West Ham in secret negotiations for striker, but no leaks on who it is!
In other news, David Sullivan has lost the power of speech.
I'm Still In two minds as to whether we have given up too easily on him or he just wouldn't cut it with our style. But if he does go imminently then surely we must have someone lined up?

I think he is a good player but he just does n't fit our style and to a certain extent the pace of Premier League football. Sometimes it just does n't work out and you need to move on ask Christain Eriksen a great player for Spurs now bench warmer for Inter / Sanchez awesome at Arsenal rubbish at Man U
Josh King isn’t like a world beating signing or anything, but he’s a good player who would fit our style far better than Haller does currently, so it makes sense. I’d hope we’d sign a better striker than both in the summer, but if a choice between a decent striker who fits our system or a good striker who doesn’t, I’d probably take the decent striker who fits our system.
If the only activity was selling Haller and bringing in josh King (plus releasing snodders) it would be somewhat underwhelming and wouldn’t really keep up our momentum for the second half of the season. If however it also meant another lwb for example coming in aswell then it would be as good an outcome as we could hope for.
A week into the transfer window and apart from a couple of kids coming in or kids going out on loan the only Premier League transfer is Kolasinac going on loan to Schalke.
I saw him a bit in their game against Brentford. He came on as a sub and looked sharp. Probably wouldn’t be fully match fit but as Antonio’s fit, he should be ok. I wouldn’t be excited by the signing but I think it could be a smart one - if something better can’t be done.

This could be a very quiet window.
