I was a bit worried by Johnson’s composure early on. He was rushing passes and giving it away, which isn’t that unreasonable when you have Martial and Rashford to constantly think about.
But he grew more confident and his positional awareness over these past two games is probably better than any of our recent full backs bar Zabalets
Johnson has played three times this season. Away to Man City and Man Utd and a home six pointer with Watford. Baptism of fire that he has come through pretty well.
Some of our passing has been diabolical. Giving away the ball so cheaply.
We must have watched a very different game.
That was based on what I saw in the first half - admittedly I missed the beginning of the match. We were much better in the second.
Just watched the first half again and I stand by my assessment. Just 3 or 4 passages of good passing in the first half. It was 20 minutes before we strung some passes together.
Good performance, a precious point,. An enjoyable evening overall. I really like the look of Johnson as well, strong, mobile and level headed. But the all the team played well. A shout out to Moyes and coaching team, we are looking fitter and have purpose. COYI's
I think that he usually does, but it's the grunt work that he does so well and not the flashy stuff that gets him noticed. Hopefully we can see that creep into his game next season.
Against Watford Fornals was involved in the build up to all 3 goals I think first he flicked it to Antonio via a deflection 2nd he switches the play from one side of the pitch to the other we a quick cross field ball third he swaps passes with noble before noble passes to rice
Michail Antonio was doubly delighted at Manchester United on Wednesday night - both on a team and personal level.
The point garnered from West Ham United's 1-1 draw at Old Trafford made their place in the Premier League for 2020/21 mathematically certain, while Antonio's first half penalty conversion allowed him to hit his goals target for the season.Antonio revealed the helping hand regular penalty taker Noble gave him to help him hit his target, and that he was always confident he would deliver from 12 yards.
He said: "Me and Nobes talked and he asked me what my target was for the season. I said it’s ten goals and it’s been my target for the last five years I’ve been here.
"I’ve never been able to reach it - I’d got to nine a couple of times but not ten - so he said if we get a penalty in the next two games he’d give it to me because I’d scored so many important goals for us this month and he believed I would score.
"I honestly didn’t think we’d get a penalty, and when we got it, I didn’t think he’d still give it to me! But as soon as they made the decision on VAR he said: ‘Are you ready?’ And I said; ‘Yes I am.’
"I knew where I was going to put it. Because he spoke to me in the week I had a couple of practice penalties, so because I knew where I was going to put it I was confident, and just slotted it home.
"Nobes will be back on them from Sunday, this was literally so I could hit my target of ten goals for the season and hopefully I can score another in open play!"

We look great
Loved that performance...everything Moyes has been building to was on show today
Strong and organised, but confident on the ball both with passing and creating chances...and a level of fitness we havent seen for a good while

He is only going to get better & I don’t even think he’s playing in his best position.

But he’s in form, knocked it in, happy days.

Who'd'a thunk it - practising penalties! Almost like cheating.
I agree he has done very well especially after lockdown & his stats are better than some of the "proper" strikers on this list.
He doesnt gas as the game wears on and appears he has put some of the niggling injuries that hold him back behind him
