I use them for 'the last time we played them the first goal was scored in this minute' info.

  • Premier League clubs to vote on ending early summer transfer window closure

  • 'could vote' :ok:
  • We could yet suffer. Letting Hernandez go without being able to replace him could come back to hurt us.
  • Easily avoided, don't get married :run:

And I thought Bellers was a nutter...

"I learned lessons from these events," he wrote.

Yes, how about not taking a gun along when you are going to beg someone for forgiveness.

Foul on Haller, one of 4 mistakes that VAR should have caught.

In addition, a meeting of all 20 clubs in London earlier had a discussion about the merits of moving the transfer window back towards the end of August, in line with most other European countries, but decided more talks were required at their next gathering in November.

I guess there’s no rush to make a decision right now but not sure there’s much to talk about. My thought is why not suspend transfers within the UK at the start of the season but leave the international window open until end of August in line with Europe. Is that feasible?

    Apparently that was City’s proposal

    Isn't that what happens already?

I thought MIA meant that domestic deals end before the season, but clubs can buy from European clubs til the end of August (seeing as they can already sell to them)
  • Oh, Ok. That makes more sense :ok:
  • BUt then, you might as well just have the window opening dates re-aligned with the European ones like they used to be. The motive for changing it was to have a settled squad before the season starts.

If you are going to give that up, and be bringing players in after the start of the season, there's no reason to limit that to only certain categories of player. imo.
  • Just enjoyed the singles in the Solheim Cup, for most of the afternoon Europe looked out of it, but turned a couple of matches around and it came down to 2 puts on the 18th green. USA missed, Europe holed. Europe won 14.5 v 13.5, needed to win as USA would have retained the cup at 14 all.
  • Manchester United legend Gary Neville has said he would "run a mile" if he were ever offered the managerial position at Old Trafford. (Manchester Evening News)

No need to worry there then.
  • Liverpool is the only team Ive heard of having one (just saying, honest). Youd think that with all the years players play (from kids onward) that throw ins are hardly a new/foreign concept. When you have one, you make yourself available and mobile to give your teams options. Is it really that tricky?
  • There was an article on BBC about that last year and the guy works as a consultant with a number of clubs.

Baz - it’s the same as any other set piece and you train for those!
  • Klopp said he was a bit doubtful, but after speaking to the guy he was convinced he could make a difference.

But do we? We appear to very rarely retain possession. But maybe it’s just my misperception. Does anyone have stats on this?
  • Well done to the Sun for a wonderful piece of front page journalism.
Scumbags should be ashamed of themselves. I hate that disgusting rag.
  • tbh, that description could apply to almost anything they've published in the last ... well ... forever.
  • Just when you thought they had plumbed the deepest of depths over the Hillsborough tragedy.... It turns out they can go deeper still.

    Disgusting.
  • Not fit to be cut up and used in the outside privy.
  • Our throw-ins have bugged me for ages - generally it seems when we take it quickly we nearly always retain possession and momentum, but when we faff about waiting for our throw in experts, the opposition mark up, nobody really seems to want it and eventually it turns in to a 50/50 (at best) - Cresser being the worst for taking ages imho.
  • I loved Antonio's long throw
  • It's a bit bizarre, watching it, isn't it.

How boring of Klopp after the match just going on about the penalty awarded, he should rather be reflecting on Liverpool's average display and loss...
  • Liverpool lost :puzzled:
