April 2017
edited April 2017
There is a gaping hole between the midfield and defence. It's been that way all season and was like it last.
Every time possession is turned over, we're exposed embarrassingly.
But it is the coaching staffs job to sort the shape out
And, I'm no tactical master, but lining up against a side, away from home, who are looking at us as a 'must win', with this midfield:
Kouyate
Feghouli - Ayew - Lanzini - Snodgrass
(not to mention the two wing-backs who are more attackers than defenders)
Suggests that 'shape' is not really a priory right now.

Kouyate needed someone next to him in midfield - Fernandes or Nordveidt if Noble wasn't fit (but then why was he on the bench ?). Especially away from home.
I really hope we go 3 at the back against Arsenal.

I also wonder that if we want to play for a draw whether we should play Nordveidt at RB and Masuaku at LB.
