    Really not much to smile about today, but the following comment on Facebook, just about managed to do it.

    Addressing the muppet who came on the pitch with the corner flag,

    “Hey pal, I will tell you where you can put that flag, hint - ask Chelsea”

    Well it made me smile

    You're right in that it was a minority in the stadium who protested, however, it is quite clear that there is now a huge number of people who are disgruntled with the way the owners have run the club.

    Apparently 5000 did not renew there season ticket last summer which is a huge chunk of the fan base.

    Some 16k were looking to protest before the match on Saturday before it was called off.

    Yes only 500-600 protested but there are still thousands more who are disgruntled. It would be unwise for Gold, Sullivan and Brady to now come out, ignore there is an issue and state that it's only a handful who are upset, although that's probably will happen next.

    As a club everyone should acknowledge that there are issues and try to see If they can be addressed. Just side stepping them as if the problem isn't there will solve nothing and only compound the issue.

    This was my first year as a season ticket holder along with my son. Even before yesterday’s trouble I was debating whether or not to renew for next season. I think I now know the answer.

    Posh - where did you get that figure of 5000? While I agree that at least some of these 5000 will probably be fans who didn't renew for some reason or another, I expect a good number of those to be what many here call 'tourists', people who got themselves a season ticket simply because it was the first year at the OS and they were comparatively cheap.

    I'm feel low after yesterday's game but I know I will still renew next season wether whatever league we are in . Once this all blows over and things settle again I just can't help myself it's part of being a supporter the lows make the highs all the sweeter when we occasionally get one. Am I a glutton for punishment or just a normal West Ham fan I don't know ;lol DJ I hope you do renew, this season has not been reflective of most my years as a season ticket holder I had some great seasons some middling seasons a a few relegation seasons but I always come back for more.

    On top of that I am an England supporter living in Germany. I get my fair share of punishment pretty much every two years at least.

    Just to compare our club to another club in turmoil - Hamburg SV. They sacked two board members last week and got thumped 6-0 by Bayern Munich yesterday.

    Yesterday, in front of their stadium, a group of fans put up a banner accompanied by grave crosses. It read 'Time's up, we'll get you all"

    Even though we are going through tough times at the moment there is no way that i'm going to give up my ST.
    I'm old enough to have gone through all the highs and lows(lot's of lows ;whistle) and i couldn't contemplate not going to watch my team again whatever league we are in.

    Hope all those morons are proud of what they’ve done for the future of our club. They’ve really helped us out.

    Perhaps Arnie admires the passion, not necessarily the way it was portrayed though.

    Ginge was the only other Hammer to stay on the pitch. He looked somewhat distraught.
