Jorderz, whilst I agree that your starting eleven should be strong enough to compete for top ten, those that have played so far have been underperforming, with the exception of Hernandez and possibly Hart.
From what I can see Noble will play irrespective of form. And quite frankly that formation just doesn't seem to work for us due to a lack of a genuine DM (Carvalho ;weep).
As for the youngsters, I'd love to see Martinez, Holland, Rice and Haksabanovic do well, but will they get a chance? Rice getting hoiked off at half time is reminiscent of Oxford who disappeared from the first team, and I don't think the young forwards will feature at all.
I also stated before we shouldn't sell Fletcher. Presumably the club thought Sakho would happily stay, yet with Diafra's injury issues, him and AC as back ups to Chicharito is risky anyway. However; Fletcher, Carroll, and Chicharito would have sufficed for this season when we only play one CF. Yet maybe Norman Stanley wanted to leave I don't know. Nevermind now...
So, to summarise, we bought 5 players in and shipped 17 out. We have 21 senior players in the squad. We have a horrible history of injuries, often to key players.
Not sure we've done anywhere near enough, to be honest.
It has been a funny window. Obviously the insane prices, but also a seemingly slight return of power to clubs rather than players as has been the case for a while. I found two really interesting non deals today:
Barkley who seemed determined to leave and ideally play at a higher level turns down Chelsea. And a 29 year old decent but hardly world class Johnny Evans can't force a move after being wanted - and bid for - by bigwigs Man City and Arsenal, and finds West Brom feel happy to turn down over £25m (rumoured not accepting even over £30m) for him.
Oh and WINDOW NOW CLOSED (Barring those late deals still stuck in the fax machine)
Apart from little pea our squad is weaker. Zab is decent but forces us to play 4 at the back. Hart is decent but is irrelevant if our defenders can't defend.
What youth ? and coming into a side with no confidence and form of any kind would ruin any kid.
The club has done very well selling season tickets . There is nothing much to excite the fans though really. We will really struggle to score goals this season as we create so little without lanzini and he now seems to get injured and be out for a while and if Hernandez gets injured then we have three strikers who can't play and no others . What is the least amount of points a side has got in a season. We are in an horrific position , how on earth have those in charge let this happen. Surely they had some sort of plan to bring in more players??

Derby County, 2008, 11 points and relegated in March
I don't think it is possible to over react. What on earth was going on at the club in the last few days? I genuinely thought the club must have some players lined up to have got rid of so many and with Carroll and Sakho hardly ever playing . A couple more long term injuries up front and midfield and we are so short of players it's laughable.

Have to agree. I mean, I get Snodgrass being allowed to go; he was utter toilet. Buy why let Feghouli go for such a (relatively) small fee? I can only assume it was to subsidise the extra wages we're paying Hernandez and Arnautovic. Which suggests to me there's not a lot of money in the pot ;hmm
But not overly impressed with zabaleta - and I fear arny might be another Ayew in that we have realised a big profit in a short time for a team in and around us which will not prove to be value for money.
This team though will continue to ship goals unfortunately

Id take him at this stage

If you are a free agent at the end of the season I am going to be a rich man!!
Chicharito was a good buy, the other three ok. Needed more though.
