  • Struggle to believe he's on £60k at Arsenal

Arsenal have a wage structure which is pretty good and Jenkinson....who they don't really want wouldn't trust hes on that much
  • It's the amount they were talking about on the guardian football podcast.
  • Talks have yet to yield a compromise on the 24-year-old’s wage demands. The right-back, who played on loan under Sam Allardyce at West Ham, earns around £40,000 a week and is contracted to the summer of 2018. Palace are understood to have been willing to match that salary but the player is seeking an improvement on terms to swap Arsenal for a relegation scrap at Selhurst Park.

  • TWC, do you think we should go for Jenkinson? At £3 million I think he is well worth the gamble. We know he can do it. Totally agree about Fonte. ;ok

I liked Jenkinson under BFS, he had a good season and did a solid job. However, under Bilic before he got injured for the season, he looked terrible and I believe its because of the different styles/philosophies of the managers; under BFS he received alot of protection and was in a set up that could compensate for him limitations; under Bilic, in a more open , technical and ambitious side I dont think he is good enough because the skill set is higher and more demanding, the individual is more scrutinised.

My advice for Jenkinson would be to cut out the silly wages requests, join CPFC under a manager who will do wonders for him and get back playing football because IMO he isnt a natural footballer and needs to play regularly to develop. As for us, I'd like us to only sign someone at RB if they do fit in long term, its abit pointless to sign someone we dont particularly want as a stop gap until the summer when the transfer market is much more open.

I like Joel Ward at Palace; good defender and tidy footballer. Tripper would be fantastic but would probably have to target him in the summer. Bacary Sagna could be a good signing in the summer on a free. Ryan Fredericks at fulham is having a good season in the championship as is the Barnsley RB who is getting a number of good reviews also. I suppose my position is just, we can afford to wait and be selecetive, whether it be in this window or the next. Me personanlly, I would like Glen Johnson or Joel Ward.
  • Hogan not even on the bench today
  • And with AC going off with an injury, surely we have to get him in now
  • Wouldn't be surprised if Brentford have seen that so they hike up the price by a couple million
  • Slav just said on Radio London that part of the reason we signed Fonte is that Ogbonna has had an injury all season & will have an operation on monday that will rule him out for the rest of the season.
  • Suzanne ;ok thanks for that news...
Pity about Angelo , wonder what kind of injury he has then....
  • We wondered that too, an injury you need an op for but you can still play?
  • Suzanne, the standard reporting it's a knee injury ....
  • ;ok thanks Jay
  • Would explain some his performances this season....
  • Angelo, man of steel
  • BREAKING: Brentford boss Dean Smith on Hogan: "He had a phone call last night that has turned his head as there is a bid coming imminently."
  • Apparently Watford
  • Vorse ;ok Ex had hinted earlier tonight that there might be some movement on the Hogan front. This could back that up.

    Here's hoping...
  • Watford... ;whome
  • Will be interesting to see how this pans out then. Ex's hint below. Good test of his credentials I guess...

  • That makes things a lot clearer. Always rated Fonte but was baffled as to why we thought we needed him. ;ok

Good luck Angelo, and thanks for playing through the pain.

    #loyalty
  • Yeah, good effort Oggy ;ok He's come in for a lot of stick this season but deserves a lot of credit for playing through the injury.
  • Just seen the bbc article regarding Ogbonna ( http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/38707342 ), and now the comments here. I have been vociferously condemning his performances this season, however if he has been playing with a surgery requiring injury I take back a lot of my criticisms, and in fact praise the lad for playing when we needed him in spite of his health.

I do reserve the right to say that I still don't believe he is the best of CB's, his awareness is sometimes poor, and his tracking back when out of position is often lacklustre, but all in all he is a good player, and seems popular in the dressing room.
  • We were not to know he was playing with an injury though.

Also, why was he playing with an injury.
  • Suz - Well I suppose up until this two weeks ago, Collins; Oxford; and Byram were out injured, Nord the same, and Kouyate was heading to Africa.

However if you mean today, I have absolutely no idea. I thought Collins was excellent last week and was fully expecting him to start today regardless of this injury (which of course I didn't know then). TBH I fully agree and really question the decision to play him today now, when we had the previously mentioned players back, and in relative form.
  • More noise about Watford bidding for Hogan.

If he does go there, who are our options? Sunderland are as good as down and have no funds to do anything about it. Would they cash in on Defoe now? Will he ask for a move?

Braithwaite doesn't for the criteria, Bats unlikely to be allowed to leave.

I'm struggling to see where we go.
  • We go north.

    Up to wearside.
