    Absolutely agree.

I've up'd your data base count.

    Cheers Suze

Looks luke we could still have a glitch if that comment isn't worth double figures then I'm a Canadian
  • Did I mishear but Just after the final whistle I thought I heard Slaven say "bye bye Dimitri" and the co pundits all laughed. ;nonono

Not very likely to happen, but imagine England manage to get into the Euro
final, and France is the opposition.
Now, be honest with yourselves, there are two possible outcomes to this scenario
    a) Rooney scores the winning goal for England, or
    b) Payet scores the winning goal for France.

I might not be popular with everyone for saying this but it's option b) for me!
Besides,England had no less than FIVE Spuds in the team on Saturday, which is making it very hard to cheer for them at all!
  • Strange question, unless you're French.

    England of course
  • But if we won, we'd keep spud lover hoggyson ;weep
  • Besides which, I've got Dimi down for top scorer too ;ok
  • OK Expat. England to win 4-3, Dimi hat trick. Everyone happy ;ok
  • More likely scenario is England get knocked out in the quarters on penalties and Dimi scores in the Final

    This.
  • What are people's views on whether the Dimi-god is better as a wide player in a front 3 or central behind a striker? Or another position. Or none: should he just get a completely free role? He seems to be all over the pitch in many games.

I heard the commentator last night say he looked better coming from a wide position, but that could have been wrong or just right for yesterday's game.

I thought throughout last season that he needed to play central to cause most havoc, but what do you reckon?
  • Bilic, interestingly, said Payet's best position was wide left.

How the hell would Bilic know

He's only his manager for crying out loud

    ;whistle
  • So next season we'll be looking at:

    Felhougi Lanzini Payet

    Playing behind Mark Key
  • Good striker that Mark Key

lovely touch for a big block and backs of pace, can also unlock defences
  • Mark key any good?
  • He can cover RB ;ok
  • Haven't seen much of him, but our chairmen keep talking about this Mark Key striker, so they must be keen
  • He can unlock defences.

    OK, OK ....

    ;yercoat
  • According to the web he imports Lada's ;lol

B for me. I have zero interest in England in the Euro's. I honestly think this in the first time in my football supporting life time, i have no interest at all, in how England do.
  • Moojor, strangely that's exactly how I feel, although the feeling might pass if I start watching the game ;hmm
I did however persuade the wife to let me watch the France game - she just went to bed ;lol
  • At least with France you get to see one of our own on parade ;thumbsup
  • West Ham fear Dimitri Payet's starring role at Euro 2016 will make it impossible to hold on to their key player, with Chelsea and Real Madrid circling.
  • It's not impossible though, is it?

    CHELSEA: we want dimi
    US: no
CHELSEA: we'll give you all the money
    US: no
  • The problem is the owners will look like a laughing stock if they sell Dimi this summer after all their spiel about taking us to the next level through the Olympic Stadium move.

You couldn't kick off a new era for the club in a more negative way than by selling Payet.
  • Payet would need to think carefully about going to somewhere like Real in any case - it doesn't always end in roses - he might not end up playing regularly or might be shunted out of position. If he stays at West Ham he will remain a true icon and be revered by all in the prem (not only West Ham fans).

look what had happened to the 2014 WC golden boy James Rodriguez - you barely hear about him now

This isn't really the issue, though. It's when the player wants to leave, starts sulking, when it is made clear he will negatively effect the dressing-room. Even if that's via agent suggestion, it begins to make it easier for the club to sell. The owners can say he really wanted to leave even if it isn't the complete truth and come out fairly blameless and much richer.

Payet doesn't strike me as the sort to sulk. Remember he even stated he didn't want to leave Marseille to join West Ham because he loved it at his former club.

We will get bids for him. No doubt. Real is an obvious one as he's a crowd-pleaser and shirt-seller, and obviously their gaffer is Zidane with the French connection.

It's down to the Dave's to resist. Like Everton did with John Stones last summer. Much easier to accept £50m than to decline it.
  • Payet is pivotal in taking us to the next level. We'd have a global, current star in our side as we KO in the new 60,000 stadium. He'd be the face of WHU on and off the pitch, would attract players and would help push us towards the top four.

    We have to keep.
