    Has “shoegate” been reported elsewhere?

In a nutshell, Trump likes a particular shoe and has bought them for all his ranking cronies - said cronies are afraid of upsetting him and there are numerous pictures of them at White House briefings etc wearing them.

The thing is, apparently Trump guesses their size and in at least one case, Marco Rubio, the shoes are clearly at least two sizes too big but he wears them anyway.

I do not think I have seen anything quite so ridiculous.
  • Millwall charged by FA for failing to control fans

    How can this be? =)

I did read that and saw the picture...

There are few words you can find to articulate just how ridiculous and dangerous this group of people are, none of them should be anywhere near power, but it's what happens when social media gets to elect leaders. Trump makes Nixon look sincere and GW Bush a genius. Where will it all end?

    Nowhere good
  • One reason Mrs shrugged moved to the UK was she didn’t want to live through another 4 years of Trump. Once was enough

It still breaks her heart when she sees what is happening to her country

From Trump to Starmer, the poor woman , I hope you give her lots of support 😉🙏
  • She thinks Starmer is a perfect politician compared to Trump

    Bland, boring, dull

Exactly what British politicians should be.
  • Let's be honest, most politicians look pretty good compared to Trump.
  • As C&Bsky said he makes George Dubya look like a genius

A big fuss over Churchill being replaced by a hedgehog

Churchill has only been there since 2016 and he's the fourth historical figure on back of the fiver, the first being the Duke of Wellington (1971-1991)

The first historical figure was Shakespeare on the back of the £20 in 1970

Before 1960 the monarch didn't appear on bank notes, the Queen was the first on the £1 note

Of course the obvious question is will the the hedgehog be depicted in a traditional setting, snuffling through back gardens searching for food or a more modern setting, after its encounter with an SUV on the A11?
  • Confession to make.
I didn't watch the game as I knew it would stress me out too much. =)

I watched the rugby instead - absolutely fantastic, except for the result.

Where are Chelsea going to find £10 m?
This may well see the end of them as a club.
  • Chelsea and their manager are so weird: https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/articles/c309eq98q5do

    Lots of weirdness at Chelsea

  • Lots of things to mock Chelsea for, but using the pre game mascot ritual to highlight the charity and community work that the club does is a pretty weak one.

Is that what they were doing, I just saw adults along with kids on MotD and thought it was odd

I miss the days when there was one mascot for the home team, 15yo or under and usually as a birthday present or some other special event

Arsenal get lucky with VAR again.

There is footage online of boxing coaches doing pad work with Areola at Rush Green. I hope someone pointed out the last thing we want to encourage him to do is punch more. I saw the usual list online of people interested in our players if we go down, apparently Liverpool are interested in Bowen and Eddie Hearn has enquired about Areolas availability.

  • Chuck Norris passed away today aged 86 - my favorite Norris quote.

“Chuck Norris once told his wife to calm down…and she did”

    RIP
  • Sorry, I don’t get it

Chuck Norris, a martial arts expert, tells his wife, presumably not a martial arts expert, to calm down and she did

    Am I missing something?
  • Apologies- it is aligned with his supposed. Superhuman qualities and his ability to usurp the basic laws of the universe

Well it made me laugh anyhow

I guess I don't know enough about Chuck Norris but It makes him sound like a bullying wife beater

And I guess his ability to usurp the basic laws of the universe didn't include immortality...

And I guess his ability to usurp the basic laws of the universe didn't include immortality...

A newspaper in Germany wrote "Chuck Norris didn't die, he defeated life". Or also "Chuck Norris didn't die, death simply found the courage to introduce himself".

I never really understood where this all came from but the idea behind it seems to be that he spent life in godmode, able to do things that regular vanilla humans weren't capable of doing.
  • He was a martial arts expert wasn't he? Certainly not an actor.
  • Probably in the same way that Bruce Lee or Jean Claude van Damme are considered martial arts experts
  • But Bruce Lee had a bit of charisma. Norris was so wooden.
  • 3 gold medals in 30 minutes for GB at the World Indoor Athletics championships, first Georgia Hunter Bell in the 1500m, then Molly Caudery in the pole vault, and finally Keely Hodgkinson in the 800m.
  • The Community Shield will be played in Cardiff

Apparently because the World Cup final isn't until the 19th July they've moved the Premier League start date back to the 3rd weekend in August instead of the 2nd weekend and Wembley is booked for a concert on the 2nd weekend

    You have to smile...
