  • Fernandes & Magassa are both better than Soucek & JWP.

Whilst I hope that to be true, I've personally seen nothing of Magassa other than YouTube clips and a half an hour cameo, so it's hard to say that definitively.

I've not seen Fernandes play as a holding midfielder and not seen Magassa play at all so couldn't say who is better than who

Fernandes did occasionally play as a CM/DM last season but was mostly an AM/LW/RW including both times we faced Southampton

Magassa played against Premier League opposition in the Champions League last season, he started against Arsenal but got subbed at half time and got 25 minutes against Villa
  • Missed the Spurs game as I was on a ship in the middle of some ocean .If we loose this i may go back .Anyway we need to stop all these goals from cormers .How i dont know not my job .But Potter and his team better sort it out and quick starting tomorrow
  • Glasner confirms that Wharton and Nketiah will be in the squad

Sarr will miss out along with GK Walter Benitez who made his Palace debut against Millwall midweek, saved two in the penalty shoot-out and dislocated his little finger

    Best guess

    Henderson
    Richards Lacroix Guehi
    Munoz Hughes Wharton Mitchell
    Pino Kamada
    Mateta
  • COYI for today, of course.......If we get the 3 points, a stay of execution for Potter, but if we should lose by a few, I think that'll be it for him....

Not gonna be easy, Palace are a form team, well organised under a smart manager who knows what's required.

Our record against them also isn't great from memory, hopefully today is the day to change that...

We need to at least put in a decent performance.....
  • They’re in a 16 game unbeaten run. Compare that to our general 16 minute unbeaten runs.

Areola, Walker-Peters, Mavropanos, Kilman, Diouf, Ward-Prowse, Fernandes, Paquetá, Bowen ©, Summerville, Wilson
Subs: Hermansen (GK), Igor, Todibo, Scarles, Magassa, Rodríguez, Irving, Luis Guilherme, Füllkrug

Disappointed JWP keeps his place, I don't see what he offers, especially as we don't seem to have a heading threat at set pieces.
  • Wonder what kind of team Nuno will put out after he gets the job on monday =)
  • We only need Snow White to lead our attack as we have the rest of her crew.
  • Young Potts isn't in the squad. Is he injured or has he fallen out with Potter? Not sure why JWP is in the starting team and Magassa is warming the bench. In Soucek's absence we would be even more vulnerable in aerial battles.
  • Mads dropped after a few games, doesn't look good...But anyhow...COYI....I have Tony Gale on co-comms....
  • Tony Gale 😭

As if we haven't suffered enough.

Survived the first 3 corners, here comes the 4th.

Edit: Amazingly they played it short.
  • 4 corners delt with no problem =)

Don't think Potts is injured, he played for the u21s in the week. I agree that Magassa should start ahead of JWP.

  • Mavropanos down after falling awkwardly.

Half an hour in and my better half came in and asked if we were winning, both agreed that given we are not losing…….definitely feels like winning
  • Kamada with a free header in our 6 yard box, fortunately it goes wide.
  • Saw an article where JWP was listed as our most creative midfielder with ten key passes completed……problem is…I cannot recall any of them
  • Another corner, and they score.
  • Here we go then. 0-1
  • Did Killmans feet even leave the ground…….
  • Terrible again
  • Apparently we've been practising defending corners all week. Glad that's paid off
  • Can't seem to even do the basics .And that's down to Potter
  • ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I'm not sure. I think when you're conceding this many goals from corners, it's down to players not having the desire to get their head on the ball before the opponents
  • We need to buck a trend here because so far once we go behind its game over.
  • That familiar feeling, conceded another from a set-piece. CP goalie hasn't been called on to make a save. We have created little other than the last minute flurry. We make too many sideways and back passes and are slow. Will we have another manager tomorrow?
