It was a weird game as Spain should have been out of sight by half time, they just couldn’t take chances a bit like our game at Leicester. 30 or so attempts. The tall Spanish girl they were raving about tried a stupid little back flick in extra time, then air kicked when three yards out and then blasted her penalty wide.

alderz.was talking about the players thinking its clever .Paqueta drives me mad with his stupid little dance .Give me Ray Stewart type penalties any day of the week .In fact i have taken a pressure one back when i was 14 at school the keeper went the right way but it just crept in .The 2 or 3 people watching seemed very uninterested
I'm probably not likely to take many penalties any more, but should I get the opportunity I'm doing that little hop to start my run up. Love it.
It was like a triple or perhaps high jumper starting off. Given it produced a well thumped winner, I'm surprised it doesn't seem to be becoming more iconic.
As Alderz said if they score it's all good. If they don't however you do tend think they over complicated it and that this cost them.
When I coached (just youth level, my sons teams) we used to try and get them to keep it simple. Be certain where you intend put it and don't change your mind, either left or right and low or high. If high ensure you don't over lean back, If you really want to go down the middle then ensure there is power.
I was surprised how many penalties in the women's shoot outs were mid height and not even tucked towards the post or much power. However there is the factor of pressure which can't be over estimated. I'm sure they do better in training.
I see that at least two of today’s press are calling Leah Williamson as England’s greatest ever football captain. One even said better than Moore who only managed to win one trophy.
buffy.Hi just wondered how you are doing with your diabetes thing .Has the meds kicked in yet .Anyway wanted to let you know that the whole site is pulling for you .At lest i hope they all are
Thanks for asking, I actually saw the GP yesterday and one of the diabetes nurses today, they've been very pro-active since I first saw the GP last Monday (phoned me Tuesday, saw GP again Wednesday, diabetes nurse at a difference practice in the same group phoned immediately, saw me 5 minutes later, gave prescription, took blood, phoned me Saturday with part of my blood results and upped dose on meds, phoned me Tuesday and then as I say, GP yesterday to go over blood results and he also gave me a shot against pneumonia and meningitis, and a different nurse today to do a diabetes check-up).
The meds combined with reducing my carb intake has seen my morning blood glucose start to fall; I have to do a self test with a drop of blood every morning to check it. The main blood test also revealed a slightly high cholesterol level but, as it seems with many things, the diabetes makes this a bigger risk so I'm on statins for that now, and also I am on the verge of hypothyroidism (underactive thyroid) which I've got to be tested for again in a couple of months (along with check ups on most of these other things). The GP thinks I may well have to start taking tablets for that as well.
On the plus side my blood pressure is normal, my weight is healthy and I could feel it when she pricked my feet lol. I have got a sore arm from the injection yesterday though lol.

Took over just before Christmas when they were 21st in League One (relegation), finished 19th (not relegation), avoided thed rop by 5 points
Wonder if he still does the chicken dance when they score
