There does need to be clarity over goalkeeper punching when they don’t get the ball. It’s a clear pen but we have seen many times keepers come to punch crosses from corners, miss, but make contact with a player & no pen is given. Just need some clarity on whether a missed punch is a foul.
It’s like when a defender slides to block, doesn’t t get the ball & catches the defender after, but it’s always seen as ‘defender does enough to put him off’.

Wrt the non-VAR review of the penalty incident, it's getting to the stage where we're going to have to give sides a review rather than just rely on the VAR, like in cricket and hockey.
I'm honestly just sick of the bias shown to the "Sky 6", they don't even bother to try to be fair any more. There has to be, if not a post match interview, then a published report after every single match explaining how contentious decisions are arrived at.
Personally not sure about the bias towards top 6, more the incompetence of officials, ref on field ( Simon Hopper) should have given that considering the clear view he had but even more of a shocker was VAR ( Michael Salisbury ) didn’t intervene. Really bad night for ref let down by VAR. Terrible decision IMO.

But this "incompetence" seems to act in the favour of the Sky 6 way more than against them. If officials give a bad decision against little old Wolves, what does it matter? If they give a bad decision against Man Utd, they'll never hear the end of it, so, whether conscious or not, there is undoubtedly bias in favour of the big clubs imo, you'll never convince me otherwise.
@buffybegood , I get what you’re saying and PERHAPS sometimes ref’s are swayed by the big teams / huge crowds at their stadiums etc, but there’s no excuse for the VAR, he has history from last season, Michael Salisbury, perhaps he’s just useless at being a VAR official?….
Howard Webb said he would like the on field referees to have the opportunity to explain why a decision has been made probably only after VAR has intervened but they can't until FIFA give the green light to do so. ETH of course said it wasn't a penalty but he would of course. Wolves manager gets yellow carded under the new rules but he was entitled to be angry IMHO.

Player goes for the ball. Doesn't get there., Clumps the other player.
Player goes for a high ball, misses, kicks the other player in the chest.
All should be penalised in the same way. Foul at least. Depending on where, and on stuff like recklesness, should be yellow/red/pen.
Doesn't have to be malicious intent or cynical play - don't need to judge on intent. Just on what happened.
It's different if the gk gets to the ball and clatters a player after, like a defender clears the ball then momentum takes him into another player.
