Traore wouldn’t be a Vlasic replacement. Vlasic replaced Lingard, Traore would replace Yarmo. That said, I don’t think we’ll sign Traore, nor do I want us to.
I didn't mean Traore would replace Vlasic. I meant he would probably jump ahead him as a sub.
I think the one thing about Traore is that, as you say, he offers something totally different. Bringing Vlasic or Yarmo on for Benrahma is basically pointless because they do the same thing (or in Yarmo's case they don't do much of anything at all). If you want to change a game, you bring on someone who does something different.
Again, my view is that what Traore brings is not worth £22m or whatever they want. Running really fast and then giving them a goal kick is not worth it, IMO.
Running really fast and then giving them a goal kick is not worth it, IMO.... I'm reading this leaning up at the bar. I laughed quite load and the barmaid has stated at me as if I'm mad!
Not wishing to be accused of plagiarism (or any other type of plague ), I would just like to point out that "Running really fast and then giving them a goal kick is not worth it, IMO" was taken from Alderz' post above.

Listen I’m not going to accuse anyone of plagiarism on this website.
If possible I would like to give the West Ham supporters someone else they can shout about, someone else they can see a continued line of us trying to keep it going.
But what I don’t want to do is waste any money. I would rather keep it and pay bigger for someone next summer if I have to rather than waste it on someone that I might not use at the moment.
ASLEF, Thanks for the clarification. 👍. I am not really bothered if the site is deemed to be “rubbish “ what concerns me is DM thinks we can wait to buy big in the summer & he appears to feel we can achieve something this season with our existing squad!
These are his actual words on the OS regarding the board and transfers. Note the last paragraph.
“They’ve said to me 'Go and get what you need if you can, David' but, like anything else, players are expensive in this window at the moment.
There’s also not a great pool of players available. In the positions we’re looking for, we’ve found it quite difficult to identify and get ones who we think could come in and make a difference in this window immediately.
In the last January windows, we’ve been able to do that. This window’s felt a bit more difficult, but if things go right, I’m still hopeful that we’ll add a couple of players before the window closes.”

I don't understand his remark that players are expensive in this window at the moment. What's a few million here or there to the shareholders if there's a player he wants. Does he think the shareholders became rich by being as cautious as he is?
Moyesie, you've been given the green light, just do it.

Spend extra 2m now, its not available to spend later. If you want vfm, now might not be the time to buy. Plus, presumably he means fees + wages ... Players can drive a harder bargain in January.
It's all money to be spent, plus being mindful of ffp. Boost the wage bill now, means keeping the wage bill down in the summer.
Personally, I'm quite pleased that there seems less focus on' one for the future:

Yeah, I don't think Moyes has covered himself in glory this week. He was bemoaning the fact that he has to play Antonio all the time after the Leeds game, when by his own admission he's had two years to find an alternative. And now he's saying that the money's there to bring in players, but he seems reluctant to do so unless they're perfect, which I think only a few teams in world football can actually hold out for.
I wish David Moyes would stop saying we might not get anyone in this window as it just leads to outbursts of frustration, well at least it does from me, as there is no excuse for not addressing the current issues we have.

But if we wait for the summer to strengthen, we risk losing the chance of finishing top six this season. Which in itself increases the risk of losing our best players. Who will then have to be replaced in the summer, adding to the already extant requirements.
Plus Moyes' targets may not want to join a team that aren't in Europe, which means he may wait for the next window to find someone else. Or maybe the one after that...
I think there needs to be investment this month to improve our standing in the summer.
its swings and roundabouts we didnt spend when we sold Haller and bulked at the En Neyrsi price Sevilla chucked down that summer. Its a complete myth of "save now" to buy later.

Thought I best post this as it is only nine days until the window closes and we have signed ..........?
