  • To be fair to Sky, it is a newsworthy story. Lewandowski and Mbappe rumoured to be in the stands and Harry Kane being given the chance to weigh up his future team-mates

Agree it is newsworthy, but isn’t the only story!
  • half past and yet still no reaction from either side yet

Must be something else happening today, we have the local jug fair on, and then there's the doggy doo competition ........................ must be those then
  • all our next games up until the 11th Dec against Burnley will be against those currently in the Top Half.
  • From Opta Joe/SSN... Since David Moyes' first game back in charge at West Ham in January 2020, the Hammers have scored more goals from set-piece situations in the Premier League (29, excluding penalties) than any other side. Specialists.

  • Ref waves play on...
  • Much needed 3 points as due to dropping at Man Utd and Brentford, where we should have had a point from each, we were in danger of slipping into the bottom half of the table.

Good to see Oggy making up for his last minute free kick against Brentford.

Rice was superb once again within a very well matched fixture.

Pickford shouldn't be shouting at anyone else, he is the keeper and he should never be able to be threatened for the ball by Antonio, he is not exactly Soucek.
  • I think the weaker sides tend to low block us whereas the better ones allow us to counter. Now we have Zouma we retain the set piece threat (for Dawson) but hes just better for our solidity. So I dont mind (apart from City, Chelsea and Liverpool haha)

    :o That must have hurt.
It looked horrific in slow motion.
  • Yes, still irritated it took an age for the game to stop. Hoping the win today will ease the pain a bit

    Pickford was remonstrating, for sure.

    Shame, hey?

(For OCS comment about a corner)

Antonios challenge was more than fair, Pickford was beaten fairly and Oggy made him pay :)
It was a fair challenge, but it looked like it touched Antonio's head last. We deserve to be ahead, but think we may have got a bit lucky.
The replay I saw says it came off Pickford last ;)
Yep, already acknowledged it. Sky trying to suggest it was a foul by Antonio too, but it absolutely wasn't.

A deserved, if not a pretty win. Hoping Kane scores this afternoon because they're at the bowl next weekend and we really don't want him looking to break his duck in that one.
    Your wish was granted
  • Rice was unreal today.
  • Having said i dont care for johnson,I will now say he did okay today .Solid did most things right .needs to work on his crossing but the boy did good
  • Was a must win as I'm going next Sunday so will be a definite loss
  • Nah, we have a secret weapon!

That Soucek incident. I'm not saying it was intended but the commentator says " the player wasn't looking at him when he stamped down" that doesn't mean he didn't know he was there IMO
  • Just got back from the game, we didn’t have the greatest seats but had a terrific view of the goal. Overall feeling was that we were the better team and deserved the win, I thought Rice was our stand out player and was impressed by Zooooooooooouma.
But for detail I’ll have to check the tv recording!
Oh lastly, we have got some proper idiot supporters.
  • Slacker, So what did they do then?
  • Some of them ( most really) near us just spent the entire game winding up the Everton fans and pretty much ignored the game, and a lot of ‘em were blokes in their fifties.
  • That's a shame Slacker but it makes people like your good self true supporters and Ambassadors of the club. Not a short journey up there, I salute you
  • Cheers mate.

    Overgrown idiots…
    Must have cabbages as brains.
Glad you got to see us win ⚒️⚒️⚒️
  • Was a really composed performance. Probably the most composed we’ve had other than Leicester at home. The other away games have been basketball games where we have been that bit more clinical. We controlled that game today from the start & were very comfortable. We were just a little off finish that bit of composure finding the final pass but we definitely deserved the win. We looked like a side determined to get back on track after the last loss.

PS - is Noble injured these days? Hasn’t made the last two squads.

Fredericks, Coufal, Noble & Kral absent from the squad today.

Yes. I read somewhere today ( club match coverage? Can't remember but it was a reliable source, not twitter or pseudo-journalist). Mentioned almost in passing that he was injured for the previous game and might be back today....
I guess still not match fit.

Edit - the 'as it happened' coverage, comment at 12.30

  • I read earlier that Noble had a hip injury and Kral tested positive for Covid. Coufal and Fredericks we already knew about.

  • Ref waves play on...

I thought Atwell was awful today, a real homer. The Antonio booking after just 10 minutes without any prior offence was bizarre and harsh, especially as MA didn't exactly do a Tom Daley. Then Ben Godfrey performs a far more simulated dive after minimal contact with MA and Atwell ignores it. >:)
  • Saw this on BBC HYS

"Moyes. Never given the chance at United.

    8 months.

I have had cheese in my fridge for longer than that."
  • Enjoyable game. Thought everyone played really well. Very impressive to dominate a top half team away from home - our possession play was superb, although it would really help if we were more clinical!

Rice ran the match. He really is an outstanding player.

That's the best Soucek has played probably all this season. The head injury looks horrendous, hope he's OK asap.

Zouma was very good today imo, and Oggy not far behind (and a well deserved goal!) after a couple of so-so performances prior from him.

I was especially pleased with Johnson's efforts today. He looks far more comfortable on the right, and his overall confidence is improving every game. He pinged some superb long range passes - with both feet! It's so rare to see a full back so comfortable with both boots, most - even the top ones - are so one footed. He still needs a bit of polishing, but he is starting to show he's a really useful player, and possibly a regular starter in a couple of seasons.

    Overall though a great result.

  • Johnson looks good for the future and could be top class in two or three seasons, he has Coufal and Cresswell to serve as experienced full backs to learn from, not to mention Stuart Pearce in the coaching staff.
