Noble picked up a knock in training and isn't even on the bench. This is just ridiculous. It'd be better if they didn't train at the moment, for all the good it does them.

So Carroll hasn't played a single minute of football competitive r pre season

We turned down Sakho move because he was necessary for the first team and has played some minutes and has played in behind closed doors games

I'm happy Carroll is back but surely this is a huge risk with Sakho pretty much good to go....and possibly the better r player

Always though Carroll was best coming off the bench anyways

I'm also very pleased Ayew's been given a break from the starting line-up. He hasn't set the world alight for either club or country this season

Carroll is capable of getting injured at any random moment due to the most innocuous thing. It's almost pointless trying to second guess when and for what reason he might get injured. So it's quite right IMO to just start him and take the plunge
