NEold, you are correct ;bowdown got mixed up with the Mane fee! still though, if they paid £25 million for Wijnaldum, then Obiang is above that. ;thumbsup
From that article, these stats took me a bit by surprise: it seems he really is rather good!
"As a mark of his importance last term, Obiang ranked first in blocks per Premier League game with 1.9, second in tackles with 2.8 and fifth in passes made with 41.4."
But I haven't been able to confirm these claims. Whoscored has him nowhere on blocks, 9th (or maybe joint 7th) on tackles (indeed at 2.8 per game), 82nd on passes (indeed at 41.4). So then I thought perhaps the OS was referring to his position within the club, but the whoscored stats don't back that up either.
Squawka says he made 0.3 blocks per game, 40.2 passes, 2.6 tackles per game...
If you look here: https://www.whoscored.com/Teams/29/Show/England-West-Ham and click on the Detailed tab, it seems as though the club have totaled all blocks: shot/cross/pass which does add up to 1.9, and puts him first (tied with Arbeloa)
Thanks, Grey. The sense I got was that they were talking about his position in the whole PL, not just WHU. (This was also how another story based on the OS one put it.) Looks like it was in fact just within WHU squad. Not quite so impressive, but less surprising!

Happy days, now for Lanzini and a couple of strikers
Noble is no longer good enough to play 90 mins in the Premier League .
Too slow, hasn't got anything other than a sideways pass and when he tires he is a dangerous tackler around our box .

Anyone shed some light on this? Alderz?
