  • One game at a time is the mantra isn't it? ;hmm
  • Baz - my opponent did well last week but i think he may have gone dark - he has not made a transfer since week 17.

His bench are all out of action and he has a couple of weak replacements, I feel very comfortable with my first eleven - if I match his captain (Salah) I do not think that I will have a problem progressing.

The threat lies in him coming back to life and useing his wildcard, then It is up to the fantasy football gods, both the old and the new.

Will hopefully see you in the next round, been quite an exciting run ;wahoo
  • Theyve got 6 good players. The other 2 defenders are playing Man City and Utd plus Tadic playing Spurs. Unless they have a sudden urge to log back in and play the wildcard you've got a virtual bye! ;thumbsup
  • I so knew someone would steal Walcott from my draft grasp... I had a strong feeling it would be the person who got Lingard from me last week (that worked out well because my 2nd pick was Martial and he scored decent points) ;whistle

Nicely on the ball Mrs Grey ;clap
  • I picked up Barkley after reading he may actually play tomorrow. So I guess we'll see what transpires in a Walcott Barkley stand off. I cant be lucky like last week, can I? ;wink ( I was actually happy to get Martial in the end but wonder if Sanchez arrives who'll get less game time )
  • Ah, I wondered who you'd got to replace (?) Zaha.

I had to get a new GK too, since it looks like Mignolet has been dropped.

tbh, I think DrWHU has probably got an uncatchable lead in the Draft league now.

    ;hmm
  • ;ok

With no chips or Captains, it's harder to make up points in Draft.

In Fantasy, you can transfer in some of the same players to match them, and then try to close the gap with a few lucky differential choices. And deploying chips (hopefully) more successfully.
  • I think at some point I was even down to No2 in the draft league. I honestly can't say how I am staying at the top, though, never mind extending my lead week on week.
  • I hadnt looked up that far ;puzzled
  • Actually, I have mlre points in my fantasy league but I am way down the league there. It just comes down to luck.
  • Less players to choose from in draft. Once you've missed out on the Kanes of this world, nobody is going to get rid of the premium players and we cant share them. Gotta hope the lesser players do well for you, your highest ranked ones do well and stay fit plus those you draft in on any given week have a positive GW. Also, no captain points...

However, I like draft because I can make as many TFs as I like every week with no penalty ;wahoo
  • Tinkering done. All that's left is ;pray
  • ;pray completed, Tinker time ;lol
  • Good job I got rid of Hazard.

    ;weep

I did it to fund Aguero. So he'd better deliver!!!!
  • I toyed all week re bringing in Aguero ( for Kane which would give me enough for Mahrez ) but last minute decided to bin off Jones ( who I probably brought in last week) as I was too scared to get rid of Kane yet again ( he always scores 2 when I do ). I decided that if I brought in Aguero that he'd fire blanks and after the FA Cup Jesus would come back and Aguero would be rested. Just sayin' and obviously Aguero will knock in a hattrick to show me the error of my ways ;wahoo
  • There you go. Just what Doctor Baz ordered ;wink
  • ;lol

I was happy to see Mahrez get a goal (as my replacement for Hazard) and Walcott get an assist in the Draft.

If I'm not careful, I'll win my H2H this week ;nonono

My opponent had Monreal who magically came out with a goal and two assists and my lot were pretty much useless ;weep
  • That Aguero hattrick (which, as per my post earlier, I didnt cover) didnt just hurt from a league perspective. My cup opponent had Aguero as captain so I am totally up against it.

Hes got 27 points on me (with Gomez, Son, Salah and Kane to play)
(I have Robertson, Salah, Firmino and capt. Kane)

So I need Gomez to be rested for Alexander Arnold, Son to do nothing, Firmino to do well and make up a chunk of those 27 points and for Kane to score a couple. Basically 2 goals and a Mom from Kane would gain me 13 odd back. So a Robertson clean sheet and Firmino to score/assist plus his bonus points squeezes me over the line. Sorted! ;doh )

Chicago... Totally freakish how Monreal came from injured, scored and assisted twice then decided he was injured again! Feel for you. You need something stupid from Eriksen (and Vertongen) to have any chance.

We're both going to have to be pretty lucky!

It's basically fantasy football's number 1 rule. If you think about a player all week and decide to leave him out, you know he's gonna hurt ya!

Baz - yep and my gallant hero’s all decided that this week is the week to have an off day, serves me right as I was feeling somewhat complacent.

It was a fun cup run but I fear it is going to end with a bit of a whimper.

Sorry to hear that you are up against it as well, ;weep

Will get you one in at the bar so we can cry on each other’s shoulders ;beer
