  • I'm contemplating a similar arrangement.

The forwards have been a bit of a disappointment really, in terms of vfm.
  • I've got 3 from WHU and two spuds
  • 3 and 1 for me.....

Wait, are we talking points or players?

I need to find a way to get rid of Morata.

But who to replace him with?

Firmino is affordable, Aguerro isn't. ;hmm

Firmino not rotated as much as others, is in form and gets both goals and assists. He's the obvious choice and cheaper than the considered 'premium price' strikers. i.e. Lukaku unfit/no form. Morata after tonights performance will hardly gain confidence although he has good fixtures coming up and unless Chelsea buy someone he only has to worry about Chelsea playing with no striker. Lacazette also not in form goals wise despite playing ok

Aguero will not be rotated until Jesus is back and match fit. Unless they play a false 9 but why bother when Aguero has always taken the lone striker burden before. So if Jesus is a bit into recovery already and its cup week coming up, maybe he'll be back in 3 or 4 weeks and actually be match fit? However, you will have to make at least 2 TFs to get Aguero in (sacrificing Hazard or Salah which, IMO, wouldnt exactly improve your team. Maybe Mahrez in for Hazard as hes in great form and doesnt get rotated like others. Outside of the next game he has good fixtures too)

    Short version = Firmino in
    OR
Hazard out + Aguero and Mahrez in ;biggrin
    OR
Keep Morata make no TFs (which I know will appeal) and hope with his fixtures he'll start scoring
  • I have had Firmino for a while and he's scored (in FF terms) well, he is often my captain.
  • Might bin off Trippier and Son and bring in David Silva and Rudiger

I'd steer clear of Siva for a while. His new baby was born 'extremely preterm' so he may be missing a few games.
  • I'm holding my wildcard till after transfer window is done so will be skimping through with minor transfers for next 3 weeks or so.

Then will see where i'm at what transfer business has been done then I may go for the 4-5-1 approach that some people have.
  • For me, anyones midfield should have Salah, Sterling + 3 others

(please look away from that comment Suz)

  • baz ;ok

That pretty much sums up my thinking.

Chelsea do have good fixtures coming up, and he's bound to start scoring soon. It's not like he's not been getting lots of chances. I've been trying to ride out his goal drought until his price stabilises (or preferably increases).

With Jesus getting injured, Aguerro is definitely attractive (had been steering clear because of Pep's unpredictable ;wahoo ). But I'm just a tiny bit short of cash....

I suppose if we get confirmation that Salah is injured for a longer spell, the burden of decision-making will be lifted...

    ;fence
  • He is getting chances and he has Hazard, Willian and co behind him so he should be getting chances. I think if his confidence drops then the only real alternative for Conte is to not play a striker as hes got no faith in Bats (;weep). I think, after last nights game, Moratas price will drop further as it has been doing so anyway/he'll be TFd out by a chunk of people.

I think Salahs injury isnt a big deal and after the cup week rest he'll be back

Now the Xmas fixtures are done, even if Salah is out for another GW my MF and squad will have enough cover to keep him. So I wont TF him out

So that means, after this weeks TFs, I will have a settled squad with all outfield players actually regularly playing.

Which means no more TFs.... Nah that CANNOT be right! I'll get injuries, get bored, get players losing form. ;phew
  • I don't think I can hold out that long Yeold, I'll play my wild card after this weekends cup games.
  • You can hold out ! you might miss out on a big transfer that could be a game changer you never know.
  • I will try - but I cant make any promises ;biggrin
  • Never let your wildcard gather dust ;biggrin
  • Never let your wildcard gather dust ;biggrin

    Rule 1 in Baz's Bible
  • No, it's the title of Baz's Bible
  • Yes, I played both wildcards at the earliest opportunity ;whistle

Apparently I am in the bible so I assume my wildcard tendencies will also be?

    bible
  • Even Adrian would have been a better captain than Kane ;doh

Still, at least I didn't use my triple captain chip ;whistle

  • Up next is an Egyptian Scouser, now there is a combination for you.

This is round seven, I am assuming that we are down to around 62,000 out of the original 4.1m that so bravely entered the arena for round 1

Feel a bit nervous about this week, I have a couple of injuries but am hanging onto my wildcard until some January transfers are fleshed out.

I have triple captained Kane - Now that Ogbonna has let him out of his pocket
    ;wink
  • I have an Indonesian Everton supporter... Not a bad team either.

Despite using my wildcard, I think I could've picked a better squad. I want to alter 2/3 players and wouldnt mind the 8 point loss in terms of the league. However, I think giving up an 8 point deficit in the cup (which I did in GW 19 and 20 - just checked) against a team with 6 of the same players as me is asking to get knocked out. So I am currently unsure what to do (probably will make only 2 TFs, taking out Arnie and Maguire)
  • just checked again and hes made one TF. He had 2.4M free and now its 1.6M. My guess is that he's spent that on Lingard (Choupo 5.4, Lingard 6.2) which I will match as I am worried (as Arnie is stated as having a hamstring problem) Arnie will not be fit.

It's just a game? Who said that??? ;puzzled
  • Good luck Baz, looking forward to seeing you in the next round ;ok
  • It'd be freaky if one of the WHU606ers actually drew each other

Back at you Chicago, hope you get through (only another 15 rounds to win it after that lol )
  • Looks like a good week in the draft league despite my goalkeeper and one defender conceding 4 and thus lots of minus points
  • After a quick check, looks like Chicago and I are through... down to 14 rounds ;wahoo
  • so close Mrs Grey beat ya by a point ! you only needed Stoke to score to beat me !

... or Hazard to do better than one measly flipping point ;angry

And I needed a clean sheet in the Budget League to ensure Antonio Valencia scored me a gazillion points
    ;wahoo

Oh, btw, so glad I brought in Lingard this week ;doh

Yes... My TF business could've been better. Spent 8 points taking Alli, Maguire (who got 6 points each) and Choupo out for Lingard, Richarlison and Jones. I wouldve got 4 points more (as I wouldve played Depoitre and not Choupo) and not spent the 8 points. Ahhh well, you've gotta be fair and give people below a chance to catch up ;whistle ;run
  • My new challenger in the cup is ranked a little higher than me (and doesnt make TFs very often. Mostly one at a time. That alone makes me want to win of course)

I've got a stronger defence. Perhaps a little better midfield and I think a stronger all round 15 (more valuable by about 2M so I can afford a little more)

He has both Kane and Aguero up top (as opposed to my Kane and Firmino who could possibly be rested vs Swansea as opposed to Aguero who I doubt will be) plus a better GK

I'm tempted to bring in Mahrez for Richarlison and bin off Depoitre (which will really make my MF strong IMO All my defenders have ok games and even my weakest striker does)

    The question...

If I leave my team the way it is and maybe substitute a GK in for just 1 TF, my 15 is comfortably stronger (he has a weak bench). Should I use my bench boost to counteract the threat of Aguero against Newcastle? Or should I save it for later in the season when there'll no doubt be a double GW?
