  I would be very pleasantly surprised if they are kicked out of the Premier League. The TV rights are worth billions in sales abroad and people in Japan,The U.S. Australia and the rest of the world want to watch “the big six “ and they won’t subscribe if City aren’t there , so the sale price will drop.
  I could well be wrong and I REALLY hope I am.

  I would like them to get a massive points deduction that gets capped at whatevrr the points are that the last relegated team has and rolls over to following seasons. This way they would probably be guaranteed two consecutive relegations while still having an incentive to win as many as possible.

  And a different question for me is that if they fudged the numbers to make it appear like they paid players, agents and managers less than they did - wouldn't the tax office like a word there? To me that is tax evasion and in Germany that could easily result in jail-time for the people involved.

  Some bloke on the news just now said it would be a fine and maybe a transfer embargo as they won’t want to open the can of worms that relegation or huge points deduction would cause. I think he’s probably right sadly. The owners of Man City will really struggle with a fine won’t they but it will be interesting to see what stance the other premier league clubs take as I read that some of them are already seeking legal advice.

  The owners have very deep pockets and the best lawyers in the world, they should not be allowed to let an appeal drag on and on. Also any punishment will not be a number plucked from the air it will be calculated on precedent, what Everton and Notts Forest got for one or two breaches.

  Mrs G I posted at about 3pm yesterday on the not sure thread about the guilty result and also commented to cue the next 5 years for appeals.
  That post disappeared when this thread was started and I thought mine was being transferred but it appears to have been deleted altogether.

  I think only a points deduction that amounted to a certain relegation would be anywhere near just. To remove the titles would also be just but would open the most huge can of worms imaginable, akin to rewriting each season involved to its effect on every club (not just awarding the title to the club underneath). There is no fine that could suffice but they should be fined on top of the points deduction, and the fine going to grass roots.

  I would like a higher deduction. How about 60 points off each of the next three seasons? They COULD manage not to get relegated but they would need an extraordinary season for that
