  • Oh boy..you just knew it, why do why do so many strikers stutter in the run up…..I think it puts the kicker off more than the keeper.

Just run up and put your laces through it
  • Tatty didn't watch the world cup, which should have been the final nail in the coffin of the stuttering run up!!!
  • I think we'll survive relegation this year.
  • Also another time where a player doesn't just run up and smash it and has to do some comical run up and miss ? no idea why players do it, saw it all summer at the world cup.
  • Dear West Ham.

Please put the gun down, your foot is already full of holes.

Anyway, we were so poor, only after the 1st goal we woke up a bit...
Kante & Scarles IMO are not good enough...
    Orford shows more promise IMO.
But Nuno, oh dear, 1 point from 6, not good enough.....
It's not just him of course, but there is just something very wrong with WHUFC IMO.
Nathan Jones, celebrating like they've just won the F A Cup!!!!!
  • I don't think the squad is good enough to get automatic promotion, but it's good enough to beat Charlton at home.

That was all about mentality. We continue to be so fragile. We've got too many losers in the squad. Veltman needs to play and we need at least another CB who isn't hopeless.

Solomon was good. Pretty much nobody else. CM is a problem. Full-backs too.

Well done to the supporters though, 60k full house to watch that.
  • And if Bowen was a strong captain, he would have take that penalty, sorry Jarrod, just IMO.
  • Used to this each season. Bottom half and negative gd from the off.
Expected against a team second in the table 🤣🤣
  • No it isn't WHU. I am old enough and battle hardened to have had to suffer many relegations which doesn't give me a sense of hilarity!

I am justified to hark back to the press release containing comments attributed to DK that said we weren't going to let our best players leave, did he mean just one of our best players? Todays bench looks so weak.

Had the agreed deal with Gold gone through then DK would via EP Holdings have injected £100m into the club to clear debts. VG reneged on the deal, hence no loan so player sales have to be used to fund the debts, severely cutting our budget.

    Blame Gold & Staveley
  • Too slow going forwards. Free kick - pass it backwards; throw in - pass it backwards. Get ball to wide player - stop and pass it sideways / backwards. On the positive side the newbies looked promising but tactically I think Nuno has not got it.
    Eddie Howe anyone?
    Really frustrated
  • Too many individual errors in the first half.
  • I wish I could stop caring, because it's just so depressing.
  • Jorderz, That is probably because we have, or are about to, sell our first choice full backs & our better options for CM?

Couldn't have put it better myself.

We woke up late. 78%, of the play, 25 shots and 1 goal. Conceded poor goals and got no points. Scarlet was shaky and can't seem to cross the ball. Kante was pedestrian and Taty shouldn't be taking penalties. Mavropanus of the old has reappeared. Completed the hoodoo of not winning the first home game against a hoodoo team. How many is that? Must do better next week.
  • If Scarles is our 1st choice LB we are in trouble, there are so many weak areas in that team....It's just depressing TBH.
  • I really like Taty, but he had a poor game today despite the penalty miss.
  • Expat, Why blame VG & AS? DK had plenty of time to pay the agreed amount for the shares he had negotiated for but didn't do so. That left the door open for someone else to make a bigger offer which appears to have happened. That's business and DK appears to have sat back and let this occur?

  • So much of the passing was just so sloppy (if I'm being polite). This is basic stuff, about as basic as it gets, and we were so poor at it today.
  • There has to be a fair bit of business done b4 the 1st, but not confident it will be enough, our total lack of pace is so sad and worrying.
I'm trying not to lay all blame at NES but, he's the manager/coach and he needs to fix it, I'm not convinced he can, IMO.
  • I’m watching on a stream that stops for about 10-15 seconds every ten seconds.
    We could still win this!⚒️

We are still useless at the basics especially passing which is odd since we are so laborious with the ball and we are generally going backwards or sideways. Recognising that players in the same shirts as us are our team mates seems beyond them.
When putting in crosses the guy wearing the gloves is on their side so try to avoid him seems a mystery to them especially Scarles.
We have a week to sort the squad out or we are in for a long fruitless season. We won’t be relegated but probably not promoted either as we are playing with only about 6 reliable players.

Isn't there a cup game in the week, not that I care too much about that TBH.
  • There is a cup game which we will probably make a mess of especially if he puts out a “weakened team” if that’s possible but I was referring to the week until the window closes.

jay, Southampton (A) on Tuesday night in the Carabao Cup.

    👍🏻
NES can play around with his squad.
I don’t really care about the result, perhaps he can learn a thing or two, but if I’m totally honest, and I know it won’t happen, but I’d get rid of him ASAP.
His job was to kept us up, he failed.
He’s been given a 2nd chance, so far again he’s failing ( I know it’s only 2 championship games ) it’s just IMO not good enough from him…He’s the head coach and IMO not getting enough out of the players at his disposal….
    Rant over, COYI ⚒️
  • In truth, despite the pedestrian nature of our possession and general sloppiness of our passing, we still created more than enough chances to win the game.

As Mrs grey said, we shot ourselves in both feet and found ourselves two down, eliminate the individual mistakes at the back and instill a bit of composure at the sharp end and we should be challenging.

The problem is we have seen this before and struggle to shrug off our frailties
  • Someone said it earlier, we need a number 10 who can control the ball and thread passes.
  • So Chicago that's a new defence and a proper centre forward then can you see us getting anywhere near the number of players required before the window closes? Get a good CDM that might allow Engels to get more involved at the scoring end?
