    Solomon being reported to have a ‘calf strain’ on social media so not sure if he is likely to be fit, but he did seem to suggest he was going to play in his interview yesterday, maybe cramp or fatigue

    I saw he was stating he wanted to be subbed during the game, but they subbed Scarles minutes before he actually got subbed, hope that didn’t make anything worse….

    The Return of Conor Coventry

    He only made 10 appearances for us between 2018 and 2022 but one of those was our last meeting with Charlton in the Carabao Cup six years ago. Sine joining the Addicks in Janaury 2024 he's made 112 appearances and has established himself as a first team regular.

    They've had a good start to the season, beating League Two Cheltenham 3-1 in the Carabao then beating Derby 2-1 at home last weekend

    Last season they finished 19th, it was their first back in the Championship after five seasons in League One and their second season under ex-Luton, ex-Southampton manager Nathan Jones (he only lasted three months at Saints in the Premier League)

    Looking at their stats from last season they were 2nd for winning in the air so maybe this isn't the game for lobbing high balls into the box.

    Otherwise it wasn't pretty; 3rd for fouls, 4th for yellow cards, 1st for shots allowed, 21st for shots taken, 22nd for goals, 23rd for possession and 21st for successful passes.

    Jones has used the same starting eleven in both matches with four new arrivals in the line up including Sierra Leone CM Nathaniel "Trevor's brother" Chalobah. He signed on a free after leaving Sheffield Wednesday in the summer and is one of the few Charlton players with top flight experience, 55 Premier League appearances with Chelsea, Burnley, Fulham and Watford.

    Other ex-Premier League players in the starting XI are LB/CB Amarii Bell (Luton 23/24) and LW/CF Karlan Grant (West Brom 20/21)

    One player to keep an eye on is 22yo winger Tyreece Campbell who has scored in both matches so far and was runner up for player of the year to vice captain CB Lloyd Jones who has now won twice in a row

    There is another ex-Hammer on Charlton's books, Reece Burke joined from Luton last summer but only made 12 starts in 17 appearances due to injury and is currently playing with the U21s

    Predictions?

    Taty will spend more time looking outraged as he is subjected to even more "physical" defending that he did against Pompey and Burnley

    Bobby Zamora got a brace.

    Carlton Cole (a point there for expat) came on as a sub - his debut! - to score a late 3rd.

    So thornbury takes all 3 points for the scorers. (Showing the advantages of not being in yr 9.)

    Those who mentioned Sheringham (except for Jorderz, who's banned) get an honourable mention: he set the record at the time for the oldest outfield player in Pl.

    So the oldies sweep the board.

    I think if Piroe and Taty play together that's a flat 4-4-2, but if there is one that's going to drop in, Piroe has a history of playing in attacking midfield, and more likely to drop in.
