  • Anybody seen any reports on Magassa? What injury does he have?

Think it’s slightly strange the club (men’s team) has posted no content on any of its social channels since Sunday evening. 🤔
  • Website had content on Monday and Tuesday.
  • OS says Diouf, Álvarez & AWB are all available & have been in training this week for our final pre-season game.

    Final friendly…

    Hermansen
    Walker-Peters - Mavropanos - Kilman - Diouf
    Bowen - Kanté - Lamadrid - Ward-Prowse
    Pablo
    Taty

Looks like our current strongest 11 based on pre-season line-ups & Diouf returning.

I’m sure we’ll treat the Pompey cup game as a final chance to prepare for Burnley & fine tune the 11.
  • Pablo needs a goal ,Any type of goal i just need him to score before i leave this earth =)
  • I know I'm in the minority, but I still like Pablo. Every time he played he looked lost, but the team looked better. His off the ball work made such an enormous difference to us as a team that I'd happily accept low levels of output otherwise.
  • He didn’t play many games as a striker, he was more of an AM. He made everything look extremely difficult but let’s see what he can do in a lower league & possibly more advanced. He’s young & has time to develop.
  • It was his basic abilities that concerned me. As a player the basics are you need to control the ball and do something with it that helps progress play, he struggled with the first bit and so made the second bit look a real problem anytime he was included. I reckon he was a prime candidate by the end for the rubbish kid in the school playground that people never passed to.

Wanna start by saying I like Nuno, and think hes a good option for us

But I don't really understand his thinking sometimes especially with playing players out of position

Lamadrid has always played as a winger and JWP has always played in central midfield, so I dont understand why JWP has played off the left and Lamadrid in the middle....very odd

I dont know if hes had success with playing players out of position elsewhere.... but with us whenever hes tinkered and tried to be smart its massively backfired

  • Maybe he likes the legs of Lamadrid in midfield but thinks JWP can offer something coming in on his right foot & sending a cross in

The proposed team lacks height, pace and creativity in midfield and also in forward positions.

Magassa involved in training today so that’s good news. No sign of AWB, Álvarez, Füllkrug or Todibo. Diouf is present.

Orford gets a run-out today, with Kanté, seems that is the one position that is up for grabs come Burnley away (if our squad remains as it is)

    Hermansen
    Walker-Peters - Mavropanos - Kilman - Scarles
    Orford - Kanté
    Bowen - Pablo - Lamadrid
    Taty

Diouf, Magassa, Cornet, JWP, Areola on bench, as well as the likes of Ajala, Earthy, Casey, Golambeckis, Mayers (& Potts)
  • 1-0 Kilman

I take it that Kilman scored…… but is it 1-0 to us or them? 😂

  • HT 0-1
  • Magdeburg having more of the ball, but we're defending pretty well and Bowen looks bright going forward
  • Diouf & Magassa on at HT ideally, no injures, not bothered about FT score
  • Looks like Lamadrid has gone off injured
  • Team is currently

    Hermansen
    Walker-Peters - Mavropanos - Kilman - Scarles
    Kanté - Orford
    Bowen - Earthy - Cornet
    Ajala

  • Difficult to know if we’ve learned anything from our pre season games. Seems a bit like our back up players currently don’t add much to the team so if he does have an idea of what his first team is he needs to add to it.
  • Did anyone watching actually see Potts?

First thing I noticed when I watched the game was the cage behind the goals.
Good volley from Kilman, maybe he's been played in the wrong position all along. =)
  • Glad pre-season is finally over - let’s get on with competitive games - can never judge when players are playing at 50%

I’ll see how we shape up & play v Portsmouth, I am going to that game next weekend

You only ever hear about the Yellow Wall in Germany.
