  • Eagerly awaiting ‘The Jet’s’ debut 😜
  • I was with a Southend United supporting friend last night and apparently Roots Hall is sold out, which is great news for them

Must admit I'm out of touch with the current state of play with Southend. Obviously they've had serious money issues and various court preceedings over debt for many years, with a move to a new stadium also frequently touted as the way forward. Did your friend say much about their current situation?
  • Wan-Bissaka, Diouf, Souček, Magassa, Summerville to return to that squad (as it stands).

Think it’s clear to see why no signings have happened yet.

I imagine only Todibo is a player we have no interest in keeping involved (maybe Füllkrug too?).

They got bought by an Aussie consortium last summer, which has meant they’re safe and won’t go out of business. Ron Martin was a proper crook there and him being out of the picture is huge. I don’t know what they’ll do with the stadium plans, but they’re existing and the board seem to be ambitious. They brought in Kieron Dyer as manager this summer and the fans are optimistic.
  • Cheers for that alderz
  • Lukerz, Can I politely ask who do you think will leave from the squad for today's game as it looks very youthful who might not be up for a wet Tuesday night at Stoke?
  • All the youngsters apart form Potts & Kante

Then it will be about whether we get offers for the likes of Mavro etc

My point is our current 11 is strong for the Champ, we can’t make it much better

So no signings is kinda what I expect at the moment

It might be strong for the champ but we’re losing to a non league side. 😀
  • 1-1 H.T
  • I think that is the point thorn I don't think it's currently strong enough for the Championship, we had a stronger line up v QPR in the FA Cup in January and struggled to win.

Need a new CH (Disasi?), CAM & a striker along side Taty, if he stays, and that is just for the starting X1. The squad needs more experience to compete over the long hard season ahead of us (IMO). Any news on the three players from Celtic we are linked with?
  • Apart from the time on the pitch I am not sure what we got out of that. I guess it was typical of a friendly at the start of the season. My stream was poor for the first half but better in the second. Roll on our recruitment and the next game
  • Ex says Fullkrug wasn't in the squad cos he picked up an injury before kick off but he was back in training yesterday

Cornet was also missing despite scoring in the Colchester match
  • On a family road trip to Nashville this weekend to see Sunderland vs Liverpool- should be a fun weekend with a team meet n greet on Friday.

Sunderland have a slightly weird tie up with Elvis and the Graceland estate - I have promised to get the boys the latest shirt, which is shocking pink, but despite my wife’s cajoling, I will be not be wearing one - I will be wearing my England shirt for the duration.

    Ha’way the lads
  • Sunderland x Elvis Hummel Away Shirt £70

The kit's design draws on the new collaboration between Sunderland AFC and Elvis Presley, reflected in fans' longtime use of 'Can't Help Falling in Love' as their matchday anthem since the late Seventies

Inspired by the origins of Elvis's career, the kit features the iconic pink and black colourway associated with his breakthrough years on the Louisiana Hayride.

A subtle embossed pattern, drawn from 1950s design motifs with repeated SAFC detailing throughout, nods to the era that launched Elvis to global stardom.

'Can't help falling in love with you' text features on the inner neck tape, recalling every full-throated rendition Sunderland fans have ever belted out in anticipation of a match.

  • So I'm watching. Just tuned in.

    Who's on comms?

I think it's the usual WH guy ( who's not great imo) but some Brummie chap, too?

Already only 5 mins in and Hermanson not inspiring confidence.
  • Comms might be Ginge.
  • Hammers 1 goal up. JWP.
    Well deserved.

But their goalie was a bit feeble.

    Loving this chat.

Apparently he played in a charity game at the weekend, played up front and scored 2 goals 😂

    Sign him up! 😄

That convo developed out of a comment that he made his PL debut for West Ham against Liverpool, playing up front. Lol.
    The good old days #pardewalegend
  • Ward Prowse pulled back by Dan Kemp.

Yes, OUR Dan Kemp who now plays for Stevenage.
  • Taty ( ball from Kilman to Bowen). 2-0
  • Away fans giving it #massive 😆
  • Hermansen
    KWP Golambeckis Kilman Scarles
    Bowen Kante JWP Lamadrid
    Taty Pablo

Is the XI for those interested btw
  • I mean I’d be happy with that side at Burnley (add Mavro)
  • Areola and Cornet getting the 2nd half.

  • I'm talking to myself, aren't I
