Just imagine Mavro playing for Arsenal! The world is clearly moving closer to an 'anything can happen' state. Trump is president, we left the EU and Mavro plays for Arsenal.....
Calciomercato claim that Roma have offered a 4 or 5 year contract worth £74k pw with a transfer fee of £34m plus bonuses (translated from Italian and Euros)
It's just a clumsy opening shot of negotiation attempting to avoid the fact we don't have to sell him. We have not requested £45m we have demanded it. It indicates negotiation is an obligation rather than a choice we can choose to make.
I dare say we will negotiate but in my view he is worth every bit of 45m so I hope we wont go down much if any.
Such good news about Bowen as we could never have attracted a player of his ability in the Championship. I feel the Championship needs a combination of strong leadership types, and a player or two above the level, and Bowen is certainly that. If we could keep Summerville it would be huge as he very much helped Leeds secure promotion. I would offer him a big bonus for gaining promotion. I suspect Bowen has something similar and possibly an agreement to be able to leave if promotion is not secured. The words of the press release indicated an amendment had been made to his existing contract yet the term of it remained unchanged.
Roshane Thomas at The Athletic says Bowen has got a new clause that allows him to leave if we don’t win promotion this season (and gets big bonuses if we do)
I must admit, I’ve been super impressed with everything the club (DK) has done since relegation:
Decisive early call on Nuno Badge consultation Sale of Fernandes for £85m Souček confirms he will remain Koppen appointed Nuno long-term trusted assistant appointed Bowen negotiation
We bought him for £25mil where he was the best player in the championship
His first season was awful even before the injury he looked lightweightand struggled to make goal contributions, then obviously got a bad (and odd) injury
Then last season he found his form/fitness but still only got 5 goals and 2 assists in 30 games... those 5 goals all came pretty close together. He still suffered with the odd injuries
Think £40mil is a very good deal for the club personally, if it wasnt for and impressive world cup (where you cant buy players just because kf a good world cup... Pablo Barrera) hed have fetched something closer to £30m/£35m imo

He made his debut for Arsenal against Man Utd 29 April 2018, made 8 appearances in total before he joined Stuttgart in 2020

Can’t argue with that
Nice to see a change of attitude to signing players for the WHUWFC team, seven new players up to now.

Impressed (which is sometimes hard for me)
He is worth that

But dont think he's a £50mil signing even in this crazy market
Had a small few game purple patch last season & he’s worth £40m, been pretty non-descript for most of the 2 years he’s been here
