    Think we have to be happy with that..would have been nice to have hung onto him but realistically I think we all recognized that it was unlikely.

    Looks like we are going to make a reasonable profit on him so…….

    It's still not £50 million is it? Why say we want that amount and then cave in & accept less? Hopefully Aston Villa who are about to become cash rich will offer the right amount and Roma can go away. Can't see why we don't do what we did with the Fernandes deal.

    Asking 50 if you get it great knowing 40 might be what you thought you would get .Bit like selling a house I guess

    Its called haggling. We ask for a high price, Roma make a lower offer and both parties agree something in between

    I would be interested to see how this release clause gets worded, more so for Bowen.

    If it has a figure then it's not actually a guarantee of release. If it has no figure the club could lose out massively as they effectively can't refuse to sell him whatever the bid.

    I do think he will end up in Saudi if those figures are correct. 10m per year on a four year contract will ensure 40m tax free and he and his family will be set for life. Were he on 80k per week at Roma that would be not much over 4m per year with tax to come off.

    IF it happens I am looking forward to seeing who we sign to make us serious contenders to come back up at the first attempt although the prices we are quoted will of course be somewhat inflated but it does gives us some buying power.

    My window wish is that no one comes in with a suitable offer for Desasi and we can persuade him to give us a season in the Championship, he could make the difference, and certainly makes Mavro a better player.
