How do you arrive at that conclusion, nothing to do with “anti England”, I’m just stating my opinion and from what I can remember that’s still allowed on this forum.
Yes Crusty as the first one indicated you thought it wasn't a penalty & Kane was cheating when IMHO if one of our players went down when fouled like that I would be incensed if we didn't get the decision.

It is cheating and because it's the norm it does not make it right. My view was made as a general observation of behaviour throughout football not anti England as you incorrectly assumed.
👍 Crusty. A Premier League referee gives that & if that is wrong then I am as you say incorrect. Easy mistake for me to make as this is a discussion about an England game.

All in all I thought it an excellent game where both sides gave everything and the game had everything, I do not think we played badly per se as we created numerous decent chances but more that DR Congo played really well, defended heroically and made the best of the chances that came their way.
Half time found us 0-1 down but on another day England could easily have gone in 3-1 up.
For the record I thought it was a penalty but the absence of the decision added to the drama of the game and Kanes second goal was simply exceptional.
I think our next game is going to be tricky, Mexico are full of confidence, have significant home field advantage and the altitude is not our friend, I also believe that some of our better players such as Rice and Bellingham were looking knackered at the end there and will struggle on Sunday.
At least we avoided extra time but at the end of the day, well done England and indeed to both teams for putting on terrific display today in Atlanta
I think it is interesting how this world cup has showcased how far African football has progressed, the likes of the Ivory Coast, DR Congo, Ghana, Senegal and Morocco can no longer be considered pushovers for the more established European entities.
Kane reckons we played really well and that was our best performance of the tournament so far. He may slightly have a point regarding when we attack and actually move forward but he totally ignores the fact that defensively we are next to useless and all four teams we’ve met so far have been able to carve us apart.
I do not pretend to understand how the rankings are established, I am sure that is an algorithm involved that factors in historical results, what us clear to me is that the game has become more global in recent years with all these teams having players from the top leagues within their ranks.
On top of that - regional competitions such as the Africa Nations cups have greatly increased the professionalism of the federations that support these teams.
My observation is that this World Cup, more than any other seems to have highlighted the narrowing of the differential between the “first tier” nations and the rest
And as I type the above as case in point, Senegal is giving Belgium a proper run out which if this were a boxing match would have thus far comfortably won it on points
Very West Ham of Senegal there...but they needed one more player with a Hammers connection if they wanted to win the World Cup 😉 I get a lot of fun (I don't get out much) from spotting ex-Hammers, playing or managing teams. Delighted to spot Balbuena 👌 who immediately stepped up and missed his penalty kick. Once a Hammer....

I loved seeing Arthur Masuaku for Congo, I almost felt bad for him. I loved that guy when he played for us.

Ivory Coast 31
DR Congo 41
Ghana 65
Senegal 18
Morocco 6
Of those we’ve played the two lowest ranked plus Panama at 44 and struggled against them all.
