  • I’m enjoying rooting for the underdogs.

    Just the usual then MIA.
  • “The Cape Verde result vs Spain must be the biggest World Cup upset since Scotland beat Haiti”

Well it made me laugh 😃
  • Careful chicago , ScotHammer will coming to see you 😉
  • Having finally found a way of watching the games, I'm having fun seeing the way the game has leveled up worldwide. Only two heavy defeats so far. I also notice the number of ex-Africans playing for other countries. Interesting, but no conclusions.

Holy stuff, these hydration breaks are stupid.
  • They’re advert breaks for American Tv.
  • I turned on just in time to see the VAR decision for a France penalty; how on earth was that not given by the ref when he checked the monitor?
  • Not good enough.
    He must go.

    Too early?

I can only assume that he considers the "trailing leg" con job as blatant cheating

Frequently I'd agree, but surely not the case in this instant.
  • I actually thought the ref made the right decision, I thought he went down before any contact was made, a brave call whatever what it was....

All pundits / ex refs seem adamant it was an obvious penalty, so what do I know....
Usually this would be given, no doubting that, he was brave for sure to stick with his original decision though....

Tbh, I couldn't see any contact at all
  • This has been the low point of the World cup so far. It shows the referees are not unbiased. It's impossible for it not to be a card, which could easily have been Red.
This one moment told you Messi is now refereed differently to other players and that cannot be allowed to happen for the sake of football.

  • That does look really bad, and I'm sure other players would have been in trouble for that.

There was one angle where it looked like no contact, but from another there's clearly contact with Mbappe's left leg/foot (imo of course).

You could well be right tbh.
The old peepers aren't as good as they used to be that's for sure. =)

After the review on the monitor the referee said that the attacker initiated the contact.

Neither are mine, I got told last week I've got cataracts already; I thought the deteriorated vision in one eye was a temporary thing following my diabetes diagnosis last summer (this is quite common), but a visit to the opticians last week confirmed I've got cataracts in both eyes, but much worse in one of them.
  • Arthur Masuaka playing for DR Congo. I always liked him when he played for us.

So did I, as long as he didn't have to defend 😂🤣😂.

Saying that, wasn't there an "incident" with him?

    The spitting incident
  • The cross / shot for the last minute goal against Chelsea.

    A classic
  • we seem to do well with defenders who cant defend =)
  • This may be the worst defence England has had at a major tournament.

Shapeless, all over the place most of the time
  • wow England win 4-2 in the world cup and hardly anyone on here
  • is that because its in America, or we have a German manager ,Or Bowen was not picked or all of them =)
  • A very good attacking performance. I really liked our intent and that it's clear the manager is going to go out to win each game and score goals rather than Southgate's approach which was to lock it all up and try and nick a goal to get through. It's the first time in a long while that it feels like a manager acts like he has some of the best players in the world and should be taking the game to the other team.

And what quality in depth that bench has!
