Lucky Arsenal. Poor refereeing. An Arsenal player was pulling Pablo's shirt when he jumped and couldn't pull his arm away. It was a good goal. We weren't overwhelmed by Arsenal and could easily have secured a point. Our destiny isn't in our own hands and now hope that Chelsea will beat Spurs
I don't have an issue with that being a foul but why are the arms around Mavropanos not a foul? what is the difference? Will we see each arm across a player at a corner now penalised? of course not, they selectively apply.
Pablo cost us the Forest game as well with a needless foul which gave the free kick from which they scored.
A very good performance in all and to limit a quality side like Arsenal to so few really good chances and take the game to them in periods was really a credit to those players.
It's actually why it hurts so much as this side and manager have so much in them if we survived, but will be a lost opportunity most likely now.
We weren’t robbed Pablo had his arm across Raya but why not just jump with him and the goal would have stood or we would have got a penalty for at least two Arsenal fouls. Regardless a point wouldn’t have been enough anyway in reality.
Fernandes had to score, if he did, we may be having a very different conversation tonight
But, as has been the case all season, a lack of quality shown on that occasion to finish & score & then we can’t keep the clean sheet that we (again) set up in a low block to achieve
Personally, when we go down, I want a complete refresh of squad & management, & to start to play as a front foot side, instead of this risk averse team that plays on the break

It will not change until Sullivan moves on and we bring in; proper infrastructure, with proper data analysts and evolve into the modern world of scouting. The owners quite frankly have failed the club.
We gave it a go.. Hate VAR. always have, regardless of today… Can consider ourselves a little unlucky. But if I’m being totally honest over 36 games played, we are in the position because for 75% of the games we were naff.. Gotta hope Leeds win tomorrow, they are safe now and hopefully can play with some freedom, then win the last 2 games and hope Spurs slip up, not going to be easy for sure relying on Spurs to lose.⚒️

He did jump and was as high as Raya but should have kept his arm down. As soon as it was a goal you knew VAR would forensically challenge it. What VAR should do and maybe it did is go through the melee as soon as the corner was taken and pick out the first foul. If it was by Arsenal then the goal stands but it looks as if everybody in the box was fouling somebody. Trossard fouled, Todibo fouled, Soucek fouled, Rice fouled. I have no idea which was first.
I expect someone somewhere will go through that incident frame by frame to see which is the first foul as VAR were I understand looking at two fouls by Arsenal players.
That picture doesn’t change that Pablo fouled Raya. It does, however, also show that we should have had a penalty
Exactly. I don't think anyone feels Raya wasn't fouled but how do they decide which fouls will be called a foul and which will not? In the commentary they even said ' and now they are looking at the Rice on Mavropanos. How did they conclude that what Rice was doing is allowed in the rules of the game but Pablo's should be punished.

No VAR for us next season so we will win some and lose some on decisions.

Oh my feel drained - still feel we have an outside chance if we can just go out and win our last two games
