  • I think even if we lose the next two, we have a good chance of winning both our last two

Won’t be over until the whistle on the final day
  • I am worried Villa might have there minds on there second leg against Forest when they play Spurs
  • I’d be very surprised if Spurs got more than 6 points with two tough away games, plus their form, plus they barely have 11 fit players and none of the ones fit are creative or reliable goalscorers.

Chelsea may be poor but their fans will generate a huge atmosphere that evening, as they hate Spurs more than we do.
  • Time will obviously tell but I do not see them getting anything from Chelsea or Leeds - maybe Everton - the question I have is simply can we get more in our remaining games than them - and right now,

    I think we can

    COYI
  • I actually have a couple of close mates who are Millwall fans…. I know…..anyhow I messaged them saying I was less concerned with them potentially coming up as it was practically impossible to throw the seats onto the pitch at the London Stadium …. The response I got.

“Oh I bet some of our lot will have a darn good try”

    Well it made me laugh

I would expect Villa to rest players on Sunday evening - 1-0 down to Forest & 9 clear of 6th place in the league. Champions league is all but confirmed for next season but a European trophy would be huge.
  • Emery won't like going into the return leg on the back of three losses!
  • Villa need two more wins to guarantee CL next year
  • I know it's unlikely given their relative form, but it would be really handy if Burnley could turn Leeds over on Saturday; would keep Leeds much more focused for their game against Spurs the following weekend.
  • I would prefer they did that tonight 😉.
  • Lol, indeed.
  • Emery doesn't seem the type to rest players. And he was really angry last night, he won't want another loss.
  • Tottenham's last 4 games.
Leeds are playing well - good news for us.
Aston Villa and Chelsea hitting poor form - bad news for us.
Hopefully by the Everton game we will be safe.

Although we've also got to play Leeds as well, so not necessarily such good news.

I think both us & Spurs could well beat Leeds - would leave us on 39 & them on 37.

    Other games:

    WHU
    Brentford - 1 point
    Newcastle - 1 point
    Arsenal - 0 points

    Spurs
    Villa - 1 point
    Chelsea - 0 points
    Everton - 3 points

Both end on 41, they have a better GD…
  • Based on my predicions from when we had 10 games to go, my guesses for the last 4 games are:

    WHU
    Brentford - 1 point
    Newcastle - 0 point
    Arsenal - 0 points
    Leeds - 3 points

    Spurs
    Villa - 0 point
    Leeds - 3 points
    Chelsea - 0 points
    Everton - 3 points

Both end on 40, they have a better GD....

A win today would mean they would need to win 3 of their last 4 (or 2 wins and 2 draws) if we can beat Leeds on the final day.

  • I think Spurs will get 6 points, meaning we need 5. A win today would be huge, but it's a really tough fixture. My feeling is we need to beat either Brentford or Newcastle and then Leeds on the final day.
  • Looking at our form of late, we don’t deserve to be relegated whereas Spurs do deserve to go down. But obviously that’s not what it’s about. As I’ve always said we need to focus on our own results, we can’t depend on other teams.
  • Whoever goes down after 38 games deserves it. We were dreadful up until mid-January.
  • It has been a shocker of a day in terms of sport for me.

West Ham lost. Exeter City get relegated from League 1, and Exeter Chiefs lose in the Rugby Challenge Cup semi-final.

    I need to reset.

Spurs losing tomorrow would help a lot.
  • One thing I am noticing is that Sumemrville became our talisman for a few games where as previously it was Bowen, now however sides have recognised that and he is being closely marked. When he gets the ball he is always dangerous but the last two or three games he has not seen much of the ball.
  • I think the really big question is what on earth has happened to Bowen? He's playing as if he's stuck in the mud of his potato fields back home.
  • Villa have made seven changes to their team mainly in defence.
  • Anyone seen who is on VAR surely that should have been looked into especially after the mess he made yesterday?

    1-0 Spurs
  • Emery has done us no favours with the team he has put out against spurs.
  • Villa putting out the worst performance of the season is about right.....

We played a Bournemouth team gunning for Europe and Spurs playing a team already in the top 4 whove put all their eggs into the Europa league

    Spurs are playing well

However, Villa's performance must be the worst by any team in the Prem this season.
    Absolutely awful.

Fair play to Spurs, unlike us they’ve turned up there, found another level, dominated, defended well, played with intensity, taken the game to Villa & deservedly gone in ahead

No ‘we were unlucky’ & lost 3-0, clinical, intense & on it

Were never going down, RDZ was always keeping them up
  • We failed to take advantage of getting out of the bottom three. Dropped points at Palace and Brentford cost us 5. We rarely seem to be able to string successive victories together.
