West Ham vs Everton - Sat 25th - 3pm

So another cup final awaits us on Saturday, the players must be made of solid stuff as I can barely take the watching of these games.

I am hoping we can take three points and feel we will need to with Spurs having, on paper, their best chance of three points. The picture will change with each set of fixtures right until the final minute of the final matches in my view, but with five matches to go we are two points clear and that is an achievement at this point.

I imagine the team will be unchanged as no one is letting the side down at all at present but if we needed our two game changers in Bowen and Summerville to step up then it's now. I think they will, I think thus match will be the time they really drive us on.

  • I’m all for the positivity even after dropping two points yesterday, but Everton are not pushovers. Palace were not awake in the first half, but we failed to take advantage when clinical finishing was needed. We must take our chances better against Everton and in the remaining matches. Because of our dreadful goal difference, we are effectively only one point above Spurs, and our run-in is more challenging that that of Spurs.
  • Can see this being a draw which won't help us
  • For the great escape it was a win against David Moyes Everton, who were riding high at the time, that got the ball rolling.
  • I really fancy us for this one, but to be fair, five days before kick off I always do.

It is after ten minutes in that I get the heeby jeebies šŸ˜‰

That is my situation entirely, I'm surprised you get ten minutes in. I am usually convinced we are winning the match until they leave the tunnel. I used to have some confidence if we took the lead as well, but unless we have a three goal cushion with ten minutes to go I am deeply concerned! West Ham are not good for your health at times.

  • The only question for Moyes is whether Beto plays

He suffered a head injury on Sunday and could be subject to the same "concussion protocol" that kept Mavropanos out of the FA Cup

Everton had been on top for most of the 2nd half until he went off but they only managed one shot a couple of minutes after he went off then nothing for the last 15 minutes (plus time added on)

Beto was replaced by Thierno Barry, 6 goals in 36, the only other out-and-out striker

Branthwaite definitely won't be playing, he came off on a stretcher just before the end and will be out for 2 months with a hamstring. He was replaced by Keane who also replaced him for two matches he missed in March

Other than that the line up is fairly predictable, apart from a couple of changes due to injury Moyes has started the same XI 6 games in a row

    Pickford
    O'Brien Tarkowski Keane Mykolenko
    Gueye Garner
    McNeil Dewsbury-Hall Ndiaye
    Beto???

Garner is still their best player but he might have to be careful as he picked up his 9th yellow against Liverpool

Grealish needed surgery on his foot in February and won't play again this season

Hasn't the window for a suspension for 10 yellows closed?

Whoops, week 32, that was when we beat Wolves. Joelinton got his 10th yellow that weekend, got a two-match ban

    Garner's a lucky boy

    A bit harsh, he hasn't even got a 10th yellow yet šŸ˜‚šŸ¤£šŸ˜‚.

He's got five games left and he's been booked two games in a row

Come on, Jimmy, you can do it!
