  • Alex Crook (Talksport) reporting on twitter than Traore is at the training ground...

C&H reporting that Edson Alvarez has aggravated a persistent ankle injury that could need surgery and keep him out of the World Cup

It could also mean that Fenerbahce won't take up the £19m option to buy and he'll be back in the summer with two years left on his contract

C&H also reporting we're interested in loaning Axel Disasi from Chelsea but it would mean Igor Julio going back to Brighton

  • I don't think Hermansen was considered a hot prospect. I don't remember any reports saying there were multiple clubs fighting for his signature, and any synonyms used to describe him in the media were "Leicester's no. 1", "the shotstopper", "the Danish keeper", rather than "wunderkind", "amazing player", "this season's Allison", etc.

Unless you mean he was considered a hot propect by the West Ham recruitment team. In which case, it might be a matter of Hermansen's agent being worth his money.

Nope, I meant that he won Leicester’s player of the year, was linked with Villa to replace Martinez, linked with Chelsea to replace Sanchez, and was valued by Leicester at like £50m at one point.
  • GP wanted Hermansen as he is a keeper who is good at ball distribution from his feet.

Like Loppy insisted we got Kilman, who we paid far too much for, and we all know how that has turned out!

NES is getting Traore, unlike his wishes at Forest which resulted in him having a strop with the owner.
  • If Ornstein's saying it it's probably true. I don't hate it, so long as we end up with Traore, a centre back, and maybe another forward
  • We definitely need that centre back and have done since the summer. This said Mavro is bordering on my Hammer of the year at present.

Ever since he came I feel he has felt under pressure as he knows he is out of his depth, many of us would shudder at seeing him in the line up and he would often commit a howler. YET.. he has been asked to stand in for injured Tobido and then for woefully out of sorts Kilman, the team has been hugely under pressure and yet he has shown courage and fight and dealt with the pressure without cracking, and not been found wanting. I reckon that Mavro is made of some good stuff, not a Dawson but giving it a real go when needed most.
  • Igor loan likely to be ended to replace with another loan in Disasi which seems pointless
  • Disasi will be the choice of NES, so not pointless.
  • I'm not sure Disassi is who I would have wanted, but I agree with Herb - if Nuno will actually pick him it means the likelihood of Kilman playing drops further, and that guy needs some time away from the ptich.

Can JWP play for three EPL teams in one season?
  • @Pengeman, Did he actually play for Nottingham Forest this season?
  • @Pengeman, Did he actually play for Nottingham Forest this season?

No, he was on loan there for the first half of last season.
  • Igor’s been sent back to Brighton, just seen on the clubs social media. It’s pretty funny that us signing him meant Liverpool couldn’t get Guehi and we didn’t even use him

    Thanks.

He did actually make 4 appearances.

  • He did actually make 4 appearances.

He was in the starting line up against Bournemouth. Nuno wanted to play with three at the back and Mavropanos was injured

He’ll be the answer a tough West Ham trivia question in 5 years time

We’re all heavy on the pedantry at the moment aren’t we!

We are. It must be a Wednesday…

He also played for Brighton in the Carabao, does that mean he can’t go on loan to another Premier League side?

I think so. I'm pretty sure the rule is you can't play for three clubs, regardless of competition.
  • "(born in 2003)" is really funny to me. Can't see a world in which that happens, tbh
  • Shame.. shoulda been all….

    Maupay joins Sevilla on loan
Former Brighton and Everton forward Neal Maupay has joined LaLiga side Sevilla on loan
  • Let's hope Disasi goes to Fiorentina as he didn't want to join us in the last window and we weren't fighting relegation then. Should have paid the extra for Cresswell in the summer but that is the West Ham Way!
  • It’s always felt inevitable that he’d make his way here eventually

I thought it would have been in the Moyes era tbh and he would convert him to a CF, Marko Arnautović style
  • Medium drill top 💪🏿

  • I’ve always wanted us to sign him, even if deep down I know he just runs really fast and messes up the final shot/pass.

Hope that changes here. At the very least he could be a good player in the Championship
