I think net spend is a bit less effective as a measure than it used to be. Since PSR has been in it really affects what people can actually spend. So, Newcastle being at 35m spend doesn't seem a lot, but they're also apparently at their limit. same for us and Villa. I don't think the data is readily available, but I think the most important thing these days is expenditure vs PSR limit.
Think it more.paints a picture that PSR is a thing and this is affecting pretty much any mid to low prem teams
But PSR is not only affected by spend, because some clubs can spend a fortune and continue to do so because their revenues are so high (sometimes artificially). On one hand I like PSR because owners can't be trusted to have the best, long-term interests of clubs at heart. But, on the other, it does exactly what Champo said, and protects the interests of the major players.
We must have reduced ours by a lot having sold Kudus and offloaded Ings, Antonio, Cresswell, Fabianski, Coufal and Zouma. Also returning Soler and Ferguson.
I don't recall seeing this on here, but I may have missed it. Vladimir Coufal has signed for Hoffenheim in Germany. Looks like Danny Ings might be heading to Middlesbrough, and no real rumours for Kurt Zouma or Lukasz Fabianski.
Looks like we handled the John situation well. Told him the deal was off just before he got on the plane at Rio
I really don’t like that we seem to do this every few windows. Maybe all clubs do it and I just don’t pay attention, but the Botafogo manager said that John Victor had said his goodbyes to the squad, and now we’re pulling out. Seems a bit out of order.
I do wonder if it's intentional? They have talks but possibly the selling club plays hardball to get the price up so the buying club create an appearance of being very close to sealing an alternative, and the player himself if wanting the deal then ups the pressure and the selling club stop holding out.
I hope that's not how it is but it wouldn't surprise me.
I doubt there is a fan that is unhappy that we have the Leicester keeper over Victor however.
It's just a shame we couldn't get Tottenham to pay more for Kudus isn't it? We waited for the auction to happen and they just waited for it not to happen so they were able to do a number on us over the price, a bit like what we have done in a fashion to Leicester.

Think £55mil is pretty fair value for him tbf, give how much other players are moving for within the Prem
Cant sa hes been better then Mbeumo, Cunha, Pedro, Elanga etc. Based on form
I find the Emerson situation strange. Not played in any minutes, not been involved in any camps, yet only 3 weeks until the window shuts & no takers as yet for him.
Imagine he’ll go out on loan in the final week but seems very odd given he’s been a decent player for us.
Bournemouth are going to be interesting. Losing their keeper, left back and both centre backs in one window is a big change, particularly when all of them had such good seasons last time out.

Our wage bill surely is significantly lower now.
Sounds good to me (and much better than the Brazilian fella)

24yo Ivorian CF Evann Guessand, £28m from Nice, 13 goals and 10 assists in 42 last season
34yo Dutch GK Marco Bizot, £3m from Brest, replacement for backup keeper Robin Olsen who has joined Malmo
