Not sure about the chant but it has always been my understanding that Villa chose Claret and Blue as their team colour before us
Villa were first to wear claret and blue in 1888 although initially they wore halves like the Blackburn shirt then switched to contrasting body and sleeves in 1892. We started in 1903, Palace in 1905 and Burnley 1910
Mary Poppins was released in 1964 so the football chant would be some time after that
I heard that Dick Van Dyke could do a very good Cockney accent but Disney thought the US audiences wouldn’t be able to understand it so he had to do the Mockney thing
At least he was better than Mrs shrugged’s attempt at a British accent
To be fair, my attempts at an American accent are pitiful and worthy of mockery, I played Inspector Brannigan in Guys. N Dolls and decided to go Irish as I figured an Irish cop in New York is as legit as anything else

Liverpool fans must be disappointed with that defeat at Plymouth. I think they had a genuine chance at the quadruple this year as I have been so impressed with them and couldn't think of another team I would bet on against them in any competition.
I think you can always rest a player or three but he made ten changes and that makes it almost a different team. In theory they should still have been strong enough but it was a chance they didn't need take. They didn't even feel they needed their best players on the bench. In many ways I am happy they paid the price but were I a Liverpool fan I would see it as a an opportunity given away needlessly.
There is a lot of debate about the media at present and many consider their activities to be nefarious, yet who could have foreseen that the media would stoop so low as to influence football?

'it is Looks to me like the media have gotten into our player's heads and they are purposely sitting back now against Ange's wishes. Basically they've lost faith in Ange's tactics.
So the problem now is we aren't attacking in numbers but also haven't a clue how to defend, so its the worst of both worlds. Fluking that clean sheet against Brentford actually ruined it because now the players seem to be not bombing forward, but also not keeping a defensive shape'
I decided to spend my first weekend off for months just relaxing at home with Mrs shrugged and Buster the Beagle, catching up on movies we meant to watch but never got around to
All those Spurs and Liverpool fans down the pub, all that anguish and despair

And I missed it!!!
They couldn't, could they?
Last ditch equaliser!
All sorts of red cards being dished out afterthe final whistle.
I think that DM enjoyed that
Slot got a straight red.
Anyone else think keeper should have done better?
Defender not great, but had one side of the goal covered. But keeper didn't move across to the more exposed side
I knew there was a match tonight and still got caught out by the deadline.
Can't believe I want Liverpool to win.
