Füllkrug transfer falls through at the last minute Niclas Füllkrug must continue to wait for his departure from West Ham. According to reports by BILD, the former Germany striker had already reached an agreement with the Italian top-flight club Venezia. However, the transfer collapsed because West Ham demanded an excessive transfer fee. It is particularly frustrating for the 33-year-old: he has long since ceased to play a role in the English second-division club's sporting plans. He is currently not training with the squad but is maintaining his fitness individually. The forward did not even take part in the club's official media day.
Venezia have just paid out a record fee for Sevilla's CF Akor Adams, 10 in 32 last season, 15 caps and 6 goals for Nigeria
€17m plus €6m add ons = £14.5m plus £5m
They've also signed Kosovan CF Albion Rrahmani from Sparta Prague for €7.5m plus €2m add ons
Yes, they've lost both their first choice front two from last season but they aren't going to break the bank for Fullkrug. Our transfer team need a reality check
ASLEF, Fullkrug has scored 14 goals in 24 international appearances for Germany! Just because he hasn't had the best of time with us, not all down to him imho, it doesn't mean we should just give him away. When he has played, yes I know too infrequently, he has done ok especially if playing to his strengths.
Fullkrug last appearance for Germany was May 2025, 24 caps and 14 goals might be his final total
I didn't say we should give him away but if none of the clubs that want him are prepared to meet our demands then he's going to carry on being our 5th highest earner without actually playing. If they want him off the books then they're going to have be realistic and reduce their asking price
Unfortunately for us re Fullkrug, like everything else in life, an asset is only worth what someone else is prepared to pay.
My daily driver has 110,000 miles on it and I would like to replace it, the problem is that I know it is well maintained reliable car and I am loath to let it go for what the “market” thinks the car is “worth”
The car is fully functional and worth more to me than the money I would get for it so I will probably keep it going for a couple of years.
IMO, The issue with Fullkrug is really no different- the value we need to put on Fullkrug is an assessment on his reliability and what he brings to the team rather than a monetary value based on wishfull thinking.
If we really do not think he brings anything to the team then we need to cut bait and accept the best offer out there that represents what someone is willing to pay.

I’ve always thought the work is going on diligently being the scenes to get this squad where it needs to be
Veltman news broke yesterday afternoon & less than 24 hours later he’s official
Imagine AWB will leave shortly
Experienced and more than capable IMO.

If the intention of the poster isn't clear, best to ask for clarification as a lol can come across as ridiculing another's post. Ta!
Sure there will be a few more through the door

And yes, how much were we asking?
