    So Chicago he made an error but it wasn't "Clear and Obvious". Although that doesn't seem to matter when VAR decide to get involved!

    Dodgy ref for sure, he seems out his depth....Not a great 1st half from either team, Wilson, - hardly in the game apart from his effort on goal, not on target, Fernandes walking a tight rope, made especially risky by rookie ref, wouldn't be surprised to see Magassa on, but also can't see Wilson staying on for long.....an odd 1st half...

    If he comes off we have no creativity or industry in the middle. He’s crucial, IMO. If he ends up getting sent off for a second yellow he only misses Man City, which we’ll lose regardless. Keep him on, I say.

    Tbh, with the position we're in, a draw is of little help over a loss, so we need to risk him staying on in an attempt to somehow get a win.

    Yup.

    Was just coming on to say this. Even if the ref had given a second yellow, VAR could do nothing.

    Next season it will be different cos VAR will also look at 2nd yellows.

    (Not sure how that will help is it was the 1st yellow that was unjustified, but .... the way VAR is applied is rubbish anyway.)

    Just to add, if the ref thought it was a foul, surely by the rules of the game he should have given a yellow, in the circumstances? (Denying etc)

    I think maybe even the ref realises he's out of his depth.

    Can we not talk about why we think Fernandes should have been sent off. The ref may get to hear of this and try to make amends this half.

    I think it was one of them where he realised Fernandes shouldn’t have been booked previously, but once he’s given the foul it’s so lucky for us he wasn’t sent off. And it looked like a foul in real time so I don’t even blame the ref for giving it
