Nottingham Forest Vs West Ham Sunday 30th, 2pm kick off (Sky Sports)

It would be a supreme optimist that would expect us to come away with anything from this match, but we have to hope that just as most can see what's wrong, that so can the manager and team, and that they have been working hard to fix it. Forest have beaten Brentford at home and drawn with Palace, which pretty much constitutes a decent start. They will think this is an easy three points and so I want to see us going at them from the first whistle and competing like our lives depend on it, for if we let them into a rhythm it will be the same story as before. Regardless of the result I want to see fight and determination to compete.

Head 3-0
Heart 1-1

Well you’ve certainly got me trembling

  • When your at your lowest in life .Something comes your way to give you a glimmer of hope this could be that moment ,.........WIN ,.......And yes I have had a drink or 3
  • Right now the best I can do is resist the temptation to bring Wood into my FF team and make him captain.

    Hermansen
    Todibo - Mavropanos - Kilman
    Wan-Bissaka - Souček - Potts - Walker-Peters
    Bowen - Füllkrug - Paquetá

    3-0

If we complete the two midfielders by the deadline today, I’d play Magassa & Fernandes for Potts & Füllkrug, with Paq as a false 9 & Souček pushed further up.

    1-0
  • I can't see him dropping Diouf.
  • Does he put our new signing straight in?
  • Does he put our new signing straight in?

I can't see him starting them but maybe bench seats, then maybe a cameo if we are in the game with twenty minutes to go.

We lost at the City Ground all three seasons since Forest were promoted; 1-0, 2-0 and 3-0 so a 4-0 loss would be ironically predictable given our current form

It's 14 years since we beat Forest away – 28 August 2011 - and its also 14 years since we scored there. That was in the Championship, the last time we won in the Premier League was September 1996. The last time we kept a clean sheet was December 2003 and the last time we drew was September 1998

Despite the friction between Nuno and the owner Forest have picked up where they left off last season. They've had the same starting XI for the first two games and apart from the absence of Elanga its pretty much the same line up as last season

Elanga has been replaced by Swiss 24yo Dan Ndoye (£34m Bologna) who scored in the opening day 3-1 win over Brentford and provided the assist for Hudson-Odoi's equaliser in the 1-1 draw at Palace last weekend. Chris Wood scored the other two against Brentford.

Apart from Ndoye they added four forwards/wingers; Omari Hutchinson (£37.5 Ipswich), James McAtee (Man City £30m), French U21 Arnaud Kalimuendo (£26m Rennes) and Igor Jesus (£10m Botafogo) although so far they've only been used as subs

The only player unavailable is CM/DM/LM/RM Nicolas Dominguez who suffered a knee injury on the last day of last season but has been spotted back in training so could be on the bench

Forest are in the Europa League so didn't play in the Carabao Cup midweek

    Sels
    Aina Milenkovic Murillo Williams
    Sangara Anderson
    Ndoye Gibbs-White Hudson-Odoi
    Wood

The bookies are offering 28/1 for 4-0 Forest which seems very generous
  • Does he put our new signing straight in?

Normally I don’t think he would but with the pressure on right now and the way our midfield has played, I think he just might. Risking a poor start and going into the international break might be a lot of pressure.
  • I don't see why Fernandes couldn't start.
  • Magassa hasn’t registered in time for this
  • I can't see him dropping Diouf.

I think he needs a break. He’s 20 & been thrown straight into a cut-throat league where he has, defensively for me, been found out a few times already.

We need a result quickly. Two experienced wing-backs (if we persist with a back 3) to sure us up on the flanks where Forest are going to try & get at us.

  • Any news about AWB? I have a bad feeling about this. Still, we have KWP as a replacement, and we have scored three cracking goals, so , so, oh well I tried to be positive, Slacker...😉
  • He was training yesterday as usual 👍

Maybe because he only joined Friday and will only have had one training session.

I doubt Will Still plays exactly the same tactics as Potter so he will need time to adjust to the way we play
  • so he will need time to adjust to the way we play

    What, really badly? 😂🤣😂😭😭😭

  • He’s been playing as one of a two behind the striker for Saints, as opposed to a CM.

If he's a decent player, which he appears to be by all accounts, then he should be able to put his mark on the game rather than just fitting in to a system.
  • We may be without Paquetá for this one due to Villa wanting him. If the case, not sure if it’s worth turning up.
  • Well don't bother then.
  • Ex says Aguerd has refused to travel but Steinberg reports Paquetá has travelled, but his involvement is 50-50.
  • I’d be very surprised if we let Paqueta go, unless we have someone else lined up to take his spot.
  • Yeah I agree, unless the plan was to sell him to fund the two midfielders we have just signed

I hope not, as they were needed in addition. I have no issue selling Paqueta as long as a serious replacement comes in.

Without him we will possess all the creativity of an episode of Eastenders.
  • Careful.. You’ll upset Danny Dyer.. and you know what will happen next..
  • I do think not replacing him & selling him would push us closer to relegation. He has his flaws - as did Kudus - but selling both in one window? Disaster.

It would make watching us a lot more boring also. The band that played as the Titanic sunk was no doubt a source of some distraction or enjoyment as the inevitable approached. As with the Chelsea match I would rather go down with a few moments of Paqueta magic than a few JWP side passes.
