  • I'm fed up with this result, sure.

But come on, Liverpool have only lost once all season.

    They've scored 44 goals in 18 games

They've conceded less than 1 goal per game.

    Context, guys
  • What on earth has Areola done with his barnet

Never mind Areola what about Harvey Elliott. =)
  • Yet again the flag goes up against us rather than letting play develop.
  • Guilherme on for Kudus.

5-0. We are not giving them a game. Man for man they are vastly superior to us and we must be the most boring team to watch in this division.
  • Again, how was that not a yellow for TAA kicking the ball away?
  • Again, how was that not a yellow for TAA kicking the ball away?

I'd rather concentrate on WHUFC imo, that's the more worrying factor....
  • Mavropanos cannot be starting the next game if Todibo isn't starting then I'm going to believe the rumour that Todibo had a huge altercation with Lopetegui. I just cannot see on any metric how Mavropanos is better than Todibo currently.
  • Try to get to training next week.
  • Very poor performance. We can't defend and there is little creativity. Lopetegui doesn't seem to know his tactics and players look confused. One ball forward and Liverpool were steaming in on our goal. May be another 5-0 loss next week.
  • We have the worst goal difference outside the bottom three. The only positive I can take is it’s the end of 2024 for us and we can only hope that 2025 is better but on what we’ve seen this year I’m not optimistic.
Liverpool are a class apart this season but the gulf between them and us today was far greater than there should be between two teams. I know they’ve thrashed other sides but we didn’t make them work for any of their goals and were rarely within 2 metres of them at any point.
  • Not one shot on target today, our worst effort in 3 years apparently.
  • Maybe Moyes was working miracles?
  • @Lukerz, Yes the miracle he worked was staying in the post for so long I can still remember how we performed at home to AFC and away to CPFC & CFC. I don't deem being a realist as being negative. I have never been so flat when watching us in over fifty plus years. J Lo was supposed to be taking the club forward how can he do that IF he keeps picking most of DM's players?
  • Now do not get me wrong, the result was never really in doubt and Liverpool fully deserve the points, however I actually feel the result is slightly flattering, for me it is all about the first half, Paqueta slips over early doors and should have done better, Kudus was really unlucky when he struck the inside of the post and their first had an element of fortune when a ricochet fell favorably at their feet.

Narrow margins maybe but we could easily have gone in at half time with a much closer scoreline as 3-0 seemed harsh and the second half could have easily been a very different more competitive affair.

Now as it turns out we played one of the best teams in the world and committed the trifecta of cardinal sins, failed to take our chances, gave the ball away far to cheaply far to often and our midfield failed to track back and protect our back line so we can have no complaints.

There is a clear gulf in class between those who are looking to win this thing and those who are just looking to stay in it and that gulf was on display today but 5-0…….that is what the history books will record but I am not sure that is really a fair reflection of what could have happened

  • Players don't look bothered. Club should be refunding tickets really.

Really sad a club our level don't want to even compete when it comes to the big teams.

Of course they were bothered! They may not be a match for Liverpool but they WERE bothered. You can criticise a player or a team for a bad performance but saying they weren’t bothered is just insulting.

  • This quote was taken from the following site, is it true, if J Lo really believes that, he's not being truthful, that's simply not true IMO....

"We have played really well in the past four matches. Today is a bad day and we have to recover.

  • Just watched the game. Was expecting far worse, having read the comments. Yes, we were slow and disorganised compared to one of the best teams in the world right now... but it was 0-0 for 30 minutes, Kudus nearly made it 1-1, and they had all the luck going. Plus VAR's England giving us absolutely nothing. After 4-0, there was no real contest from either side. 5-0 sounds horrible, but the players did their best in yet another new formation.

I agree Kuching, although we lost 0-5 I thought it was one of our better performances.
  • Bowen out for a while with a fractured foot! 😩
