It was great to see our players passing to each other. That's been one of our weaknesses for a while now ...... unable to pass the ball and retain possession.
A very Moyeseque type of game where we conceded [possession, defended well and then scored. The second-half was probably the best that we have played this season. Three deserved points and everyone played well. And a clean sheet.
Although I suspect we had way more possession than the 40% we managed last season under Moyes at SJP.
I swear I watch a different game to most on here. That was our best performance of the season by a mile. Fully deserved the result.⚒️
Who has been saying anything different, I think everyone here is really pleased, both with the result and the performance. Apart from the 10 mins or so before half time, I thought we played great.

I refer the honourable member to the earlier posts on this thread.
Fantastic win. Listening to Talksport and the idiots saying that it wasn’t a great win and that Jarrod Bowen is too good for West Ham. They love to hate us.
What a result! I did only get to see the second half but that was our best, most cohesive half of football so far. We looked more composed on the ball, players more available for each other and for me the decision to come out and look for a second got us the result.
Paquetta looked a bit more like his old self and Bowen had his old feel about him again, two things that will be essential to us showing up more now. I am so happy for Lopetgui as he must be under a lot of pressure and will gain a lot of confidence in his side from that. We all just really needed that, the manager, the players and us fans. It's the first time I have felt maybe we will be ok. No reason we can't take something from Arsenal at the weekend now, they have a big Euro game tomorrow so we will have the extra days rest.
Sometimes you just need to catch a break and maybe tonight was ours.
It was a solid win, something you can certainly build on.
Still really flaky at the back though not sure how you solve it. Another one where had the Newcastle front players been on it we could have been down 3 or 4 in the first half.
I think at least for once we got in the opposition half for more than 10 minutes the entire game.
I didn’t feel overly concerned. Considering they had Gordon, Isak, Barnes, Wilson, Joelinton, Tonali etc. they are a very good side.
They had two key chances; the Todibo fluff which Gordon should have scored & then the Isak chance before HT. Other than that we restricted them to not much.
Second half we were a lot more composed & calm, whereas first half was a little chaotic.
Well worth the journey. Decent performance and a clean sheet to boot. I think Soler showed what he is about and complimented Paqueta. I thought Soucek had a really good game, popping up everywhere. Oh well, only another 4 1/2 hours on the coach. 🥴 ⚒
I said to the other half that a sneaky 2nd and we’d join Spurs in a shock away result this week!
A really welcome 3 pts and hopefully (after Arsenal) it’ll boost us going into the Xmas fixtures and beyond. We may even have the German back. Antonio’s lack of Jamaica games may have helped his energy levels as he had a mini break.
I had to work 2nd half so 3,000 refreshes on the bbc site were worth it!!
A great result and an even better performance, the team played for each other and most importantly the manager.
Everyone played their part but I was especially pleased for Soler and Soucek, they were immense in midfield, closed people down, challenged for every ball and connected the dots going forward.
We looked comfortable on the ball and fully deserved the points, the fact that Newcastle failed to get a single shot on target for the entire second half when they were chasing the game says it all really, and for me, I think we looked lively and up for a third, I feel that under DM we would have tried to close the game down and invited pressure upon ourselves for the final 15mins.
Happy days and happy Thanksgiving everyone - It certainly helps that the other half of my house is a Sunderland house :-)

Absolutely no clue what he was really saying.
