  • @Ravel, Can Luton play at home first as I heard that the ground improvements wouldn't be finished in time for the start of the season? For those of us who have been there we would say it should take years to improve Kenilworth Road. =)

Yeah, there was talk of a lot of work needed over the summer just to get the stadium remotely fit for the PL.
  • Another supposed "leak" has us away to Wolves, we'll know soon enough.

    Bournemouth away
    Chelsea home
    Brighton away
    Luton away
    Man City home
    Liverpool away

    October/November a little easier

    First 6

    Arsenal away on Boxing Day

    Man City away last game
  • Bournemouth away it is then.
  • Tough first 6 IMO
  • 4 of our first 6 are away
  • We then have Sheff United & Newcastle home after Liverpool, making it 4 home, 4 away after 8
  • And the two home games are Chelsea and City.

I'll get the Moyes Out 2023/24 thread drafted for October 😉

It’s certainly a testing start, with Chelsea, City & Liverpool, plus Brighton who we always seem to lose to. Pressure will be on to get 3 points off Bournemouth, Luton & Sheff United (GW 7) to make this a decent start with some of those fixtures.

  • West Ham’s 1923/24 fixtures - This is the title on Claret and Hugh for the release of the fixtures. All our yesterdays. =)
  • Is it me or do we always seem to have Arsenal around Christmas day?
  • December looks like a game every other day, almost. Why so many games?
  • Looks like we'll be playing Rice on Boxing Day 😢

Yeah that's a typical Hugh Southern error

I don't think it's any worse than usual, there's a full week between Fulham on the 9th and Wolves on the 16th, then another full week until Man Utd on the 23rd. Then a Boxing Day fixture as is traditional and then Brighton on the 30th.

The only "extra" is a midweek game between 2nd and 9th, which, given there can't really be midweek games until the group stages of the European competitions have finished, is one of the few midweek spaces before we get into the FA Cup games from January.
  • Hopefully we are high enough up the table before our last game. City of all people 🙄
  • Otherwise known as the battle of the European champions

Edit: There's actually another game to add, there's the final Europa League group game on 14th December, so things are a little more congested.

    Part 2.
  • Away 1st , last and Boxing Day fixtures seems mean 😡

It's to do with keeping games local, to minimise travelling for the fans.

    Not just us

Villa, Forest, Fulham, Spurs and Wolves all in the same boat

So none of the big teams...

So shouldn't Man Utd be playing away to a London club then?
  • We’ll race you back to Surrey🎵🎵🎵
  • Sheffield United are playing Luton on Boxing day, nice local trot hahaha
  • So our 6 Europa Group games are followed by Liverpool away and then 5 home games Newcastle, Everton, Forest, Palace and Wolves. Not too shabby.
  • Best to play City last game as everything is normally already sorted by then
  • Then we can both head off to our respective European finals.
