  • I didnt want to tempt fate by saying England would definitely be in the final (even though we will be). More a last minute hesitancy to believe it will be Belgium from the other side of the draw (which is overrated and just as difficult as out side of the draw ;lol )
  • Spurs are bossing it.... ;nonono

  • Yet they still manage to win nothing

So basically Baz it's France or Belgium v Croatia or England. ;hmm

    Fixed it for you
  • I read somewhere that Man City only had something like 3 senior players who didn't go to the World Cup, and one of those was Joe Hart.

I imagine their pre-season dressing room is a bit echoey ;lol
  • When Joe Hart shouts "leave it!!" he'll hear the echo... and leave it

I should imagine it is driving Leroy inSane
  • Have to make up a five a side team with dustbins and bet the dustbins would still score against hart

Nacer Chadli (Belgium) takes the corner, but he overhits it and none of his teammates are able to reach the ball.

    Well well

    Grrr wrong threaders

I look st Croatia and think they look better than us on paper especially midfield but then I think England are more than the sum of their parts and Croatia less than the sum of their parts. So maybe going to extra time then
  • I look at Kane vs Lovren and I like that.

We need to keep Modric and co quiet in MF, stay together and provoke pandemonium by getting to the final.

I am so missing England! Everyone I am in contact with here barely even know's theres a 'world cup of soccer'!

    COYI (come on you Ingerland!)
  • Tell them it's the World Series of Soccer or the Superbowl of Soccer where you really do become world champions. ;ok
  • Slav ;clap
IMO the best football song ever ;ok

Not everyone of course, but there are times when I am simply amazed, I was out with friends from my car club the other night and a couple of them did not realize that the World Cup consisted of national teams.

    No hope

  • I'm starting to get a bit restless now, and only just under 5 hours to go. ;wahoo
  • Each time I let myself think about tonight's game my hands go tingly and sweaty, haha.

Last time I was this excited for a game of football was probably the cup final against the scoucers.

    So very excited!
  • I feel a bit sick. ;puzzled
  • got a cheeky 1 pound on 600/1

-Sterling to score the first and last goal
    -England to win 1-0
    -4 yellow cards combined
    -10 corners combined
  • I was talking to one of my german colleagues he reckons England / France and Belgium will be the teams to beat in the next 10 years. He reckons Germany should have binned a load of their older players and taken some youngster like they did before. Felt strange have a german being jealous of an England team for once
  • Germany lost their goal threat, they just don't have a world class striker, Werner is decent but he isn't top draw. The rest of their team is decent, players like Brandt and Kimmich will get them going again. They need to bin off Ozil / Muller though. Make room for Sane to come in and bring Brandt through and they will carry a goal threat.
  • Just over 90 mins 2 go...
    Nerves beating me... ;scarveng
  • ;scarveng ;scarveng ;wahoo ;scarveng ;scarveng
  • Wearing my FitBit, concerned about my blood pressure tonight ;puzzled
  • I think people need to start making a mental space for .. you know... just in case....

Hope for the best, plan for the worst ;ok

This is the kind of time when a thread comes in handy where site rules don't count/are relaxed. A kind of swear jar. (Not at one another, of course)
