Disappointed didn't get the job thanks for all the support on here but wish Mr Bilic well and I am sure he is the right man for the job, I have just asked my boss for my resignation letter back she is considering it ;doh
Certainly cannot see any other managers picking fights or having a war of words with him. I also can't see the players not doing as he says.
He looks like a real tough cookie and he is just what we need on the sideline during games.
I can imagine also any player slacking at all will get a little bit of a telling off. I think he has the mentality that we need as a club to fight in and win games.
Former Hammers Harry Redknapp has tipped Slaven Bilic to bring back back one or two of the old West Ham players to work with him on the coaching side.
Speaking an hour before the appointment was made, he said: “Slaven looks like he’s going to be the new boss there.
“He knows the club well and I think he’ll bring back one or two of the old players to work with him on the coaching side.
“So it’s an opportunity for one or two lads he played with to do some specialist coaching and work with him in his backroom team. So all in all I think it’s a good signing.”

Julian Dicks maybe, will we need a striker coach again.
Hi all. Glad that's done - I was just about to post another pointless article! Have to say that for the first time in ages I am a little bit excited. Ever since Harry walked the first time, I have been underwhelmed by our managerial appointments -- Roe...(sorry still can't say it), Curbishley, Grant, Allardyce. Three different managements, same mentality. Now I am genuinely looking forward to the new season. Of course, it could all go belly up but that's life. OK see you all next season and remember...
Ich bin ein Boleyner! Du bist Boleyner! Wir sind Boleyner!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The thing is, if it all goes wrong and we struggle with the workload of Europe, he's the sort of manager you'd want in a relegation scrap. Certainly over a Zola or Grant.
There's only one phone call that needs to be made at that point and I think we both know whose that is.....
Going to give Slaven 2 years before I ultimately judge him.
The first year, new squad, jelling the players, different approach, Europa plus the pressure of the last season at the OS.
If it's a total disaster (I don't think it will be) then that could be different.
3m a year......twice the basic the previous manager was on but no payoff if relegated (good). That's raised the bar a little and we could have the genuine 13th highest paid manager in the world.
For me the main targets under the Slaven regime are to avoid seeing this game in game out:
Twist: "Awful, simply awful"
m-h: "Teflon will probably claim we dominated the game and created dozens of chances"
Hutton: "I cannot believe how a side can consistently go out and play with such little passion game in game out. Year after year it's the same with West Ham, it never changes no matter who manages the club"
luke: "3 wins in 21. Can someone please tell Downing he's allowed to tackle or he can leave the club as far as I an concerned"

Path ;ok thanks for cheering me up
;biggrin
I need cheering up right now, I have every confidence that you'll deliver!
Make me happy ;wahoo
Although I'm a bit alarmed by the news that he's now going on holiday and will be back later in the month. ;puzzled
What about our transfers? Is it all being left to Sully, and young Jack once school breaks up? ;puzzled
;whistle

Good luck and welcome back Slaven!
coyi
Maybe we have a coach and not a manger, regarding transfers...
Do we know when the squad has to return to training???
I assume Valencia will get an extension due to his international games.
It's looking a bit like that. Presumably Sully has always been angling for more power in that direction ;hmm
Squad reports back Monday 22 June. (I too expect those involved in summer tournaments will have an extended break.)
It hasn't started yet!
