  • I think we might need a third.
  • thorn

    Of course you do. ;wink

Thought that half went about as well as we could have hoped. Newcastle will have to come at us, and once Arnie is on, they will be vulnerable to our counterattack.
  • I was joking Grey or at least I hope I am.
  • Theres no getting away from the obvious. Arnie is much more of a presence physically and in terms of being mobile His link up play and skill level is higher and he's both an assister and scorer. Hernadez just hasn't got anything like the array of things Arnie has and, despite being a famous poacher, hes (IMO) looking a bit past it in that area too

#bye at the end of the season
  • Me too, thorn!
  • I actually do think we need a third ;biggrin
  • Because we're prone to defending like that ;doh
  • I think we might need a third.

I laughed... Looks like Im the only one so far who did think you were joking ;lol

Kiss of death but we will NOT be needing a third (despite actually getting a third)
  • Snodgrass in acres but neither Lanzini nor Hernandez could find him
  • Great energy and pace from Fredericks

Bit too much for Hernandez to turn it in
  • Masuaku has actually played very well since coming on
  • Get Arnie on, please. And/or Nasri.
  • Eeyore-007

#Chich-Eeyore-ito (possibly my fantasy handle for next season)

  • Arnie coming on for Hernandez

    Lanzini with the rabona.

Probably not advisable having suffered an ACL ;sofa
  • Masuaku defending well with his face
  • Get Antonio on to drive at them a bit
  • Obiang coming on for Noble.

    Conservative.
  • This hasn't been amazing. First half was good, but we've done hardly anything this half.
  • Great challenge by Ogbonna ;clap
  • This hasn't been amazing. First half was good, but we've done hardly anything this half.

Sometimes...it's pays to just enjoy yourself

We are comfortably winning 2-0, who cares if we haven't had a great 2nd half, just being in this position is amazing enough

    So smile coyi
  • We keep taking the wrong decision in the final third. Could have buried this game if we got it right
  • Nothing much to complain about there. Efficient, clean sheet, 3 home points, and a bit of squad rotation. Lanzini looks class again after a horrible injury, but we have options.
    I love beating Newcastle.
Billy Bonds has his stand at last.
    We got Declan Rice.
  • A very professional performance. Felt like we just saw out the second half rather than pushing on for more goals, but nice to be able to do that.

Newcastle weren't very good, which obviously helped.

Lanzini got the MOTM in the stadium, but it was Rice for me. Another very assured performance and he brings a lot of composure to our midfield.

Diop and Ogbonna were excellent, too, but I felt we were lacking in the final third. Anderson seems to have lost a bit on confidence and Lanzini (understandably) isn't quite there in terms of sharpness (of foot and mind).

Still, a good three points and 7th is within striking distance again.
  • Solid performance i certainly think Pellegrini did his homework last night on Newcastle.

Nothing at all to moan about today. Great first half then saw the game out. I actually thought Chicorito did alright personally.
  • happy happy joy joy
  • Loved Declan's goal celebration... ;lol
Very efficient performance with some really great defending all round..
Anderson, Snodgrass & Little gem ran their socks off, not always coming off, but well done to all.
A great tribute 2 Billy Bonds, someone who really deserves the " LEGEND " status ;bowdown
  • Can't believe they didn't ask Dekkers about his goal celebration in the post-match interview!

Also, Nobby doing some punditry for one of the broadcasters. ;nolan ;porkpie
  • Saw on the BBC that this is the first time we’ve had 5 home league wins on the bounce since moving in ;clap
