  • I've had Morata for ages and he's scored me a nice amount of points.

Can those that broke Agrero then swapped him for Morata then broke Morata please stay away from Kane and Lookarkoo.

    Thank you.

    Message ends.
  • Lacazette ;weep
  • Oh no, what's happened to him?
  • Failed to score ;angry
  • This FF voodoo doll set from eBay is proving priceless ;lol

    1. Guilty in terms of Aguero and Morata
    2. Already have Kane and Lulu ;wink
  • I've just bought Aguero - start selling off now ;lol

    ;lol
  • Well done Burnley. Two defenders, clean sheets, one assist. 4 bonus points

=> 19 points for two players
  • The wildcard moment can't be put off for much longer.

aye i'm wildcarding after internationals. did a bit of playing around and found a nice mix of top 6 players only, that i can get into a 4-4-2 that have a nice set of points between them already so hoping for the same going forward.
  • Morata 4-6 weeks, according to reports. Spain did a scan that revealed a grade 2 hamstring injury.
  • Should have probably took the plunge and wildcarded earlier, for some reason (despite no PL games being played) the value of the team I had beforehand that I was going to wildcard on has increased by 0.6m combined which means I have to facilitate changes elsewhere...) seems a bit weird the PL fantasy would update the prices on some players TWICE since the last round of PL games.
  • I've been puzzling over how they do the price changes ... I think there's just an algorithm that gets triggered and then does it automatically. ;hmm

Or, they do it twice because there were 2 rounds of international games and players got crocked at both stages (which usually means managers transfer them out and trigger a price drop. And vice versa for replacements transferred in. ) ;puzzled
  • This suggests it happens at a fixed time, so you're probably right Mrs Grey.

And here's a bonus, there's a price predictor tool if you want to get really geeky http://www.fplstatistics.co.uk

MrsGrey Coutinho was 8.8m I think before game week 7 ? after he went up to 8.9 and now he is at 9.0m ?

  • Reflecting more people buying him, presumably?

The 2 drivers would probably have been his goal in GW 7,( -> buy buy buy -> price hike) and then Mane's injury a couple of days ago on int. duty (so many would have ditched him and brought in Coutinho)?

Is my theory. (haen't had time to look at the links outcast posted yet...)
  • I'm not sure where that person gets their info from but basically: yes, prices are driven by people buying and selling players rather than their actual form and there is a set time for the price update.

well I wildcarded now anyway had to settle for a different low cost striker but he is going to be on the subs bench anyway. Surprised I could pick up a cheap Coquelin for Arsenal for 4.4m as a filler. Squad looks strong, though hoping Pochettino keeps Trippier playing than reverting back to Aurier. However if he does go back to Aurier I have a decent back up in Lowton.

Got in Elliot from Newcastle since he is actually playing instead of Speroni with Lloris as first choice, this will enable me to play my bench boost in the future to try and secure maximum points from my bench where all my players at some point could feature.

    Lloris

    Stones Otamendi Jones Trippier

    Kante Coutinho Mikhatryian David Silva

    Lukaku Kane

Coquelin / Lowton / Quaner / Elliot - on the bench

Think that is a solid all round squad that will net me a decent haul
  • ;hmm I thought Kante was injured?
  • 75% chance apparently
  • As mentioned a few days back, I couldnt access my team to transfer out Aguero (because I'd played a free hit) until after it reverted. So I thought bringing in Morata was good business and did so straight away.

The free hit zoomed me up the league from 20th+ to 3rd so a great week for me.
    Happy days etc etc....

34 minutes into the game and Morata is injured and I'd already used my one free TF to bring him in.

So I waited and waited for injury news and the international break to be over. Trying to be sensible and not TF anyone else who'd subsequently get injured on international duty wasnt easy for me

But I still waited (and waited)...

I saw Jesus's price go up (the obvious one for one with Morata swap just incurring a 4pt penalty)

But I still waited (and waited)...

I saw the Kolasinac and Atsu injury updates on my team alongside Morata

But I still waited (and waited)...

I wondered whether to now take out Kolasinac and bring in a Man City or Chelsea defender.

I pondered whether to bring in Silva, Sterling or Sane.

I wondered could I do without a Spurs defender after having 2 last week

Should I bring in a newly fit Hazard

But I still waited (and waited)...

I saw Jesus's price go up again and then Sterlings...

And you guessed it, I still waited (and waited)...

My main aim was always to consolidate. I'd recovered from a less than average start to sit 3rd in the league ( a position I took all season but for 2 GWs to achieve last year). So the sensible thing was just to swap out Morata for Jesus and take the 4 point hit. Even Aguero's quick return from injury didnt bother me as I figured he'd just be on the bench rather than risked.

So I had waited and waited until 10pm UK time on a friday sitting there with my sensible, analytical hat on even contemplating leaving Morata in the side. I looked at my midfield which had been weakened by having Lukaku, Kane and Aguero in the team and thought that I had to get in another striker. I even thought that maybe Batshuayi could be a short term solution and, again, just a 4pt penalty.

The need to go and do some work made me realize it was now or never for some decision making after putting it off all week.

Maybe if I just brought a cheaper striker in and maybe another quality midfielder the squad would look more balanced ;hmm

Even a bad week surely wouldnt see me tumble down the league too far, would it? I could always bring Morata back in and regroup the week after?

So... I waited a bit longer. I knew the washing up needed to be done so that was an excuse to ponder more...

So I waited a bit longer...

Ooh... You want the short version?

I did the washing up, sat down at my PC, changed a defender, changed a striker, changed a midfielder, changed another midfielder, changed another defender and clicked the confirm button for a total of 6 transfers this week ;wahoo

But at least I waited and pondered, right ;puzzled
  • I think what cost me over the past few years was all the chopping and changing.
This year, so far, I have constantly played a 433, changing to a 532 when Agüero got injured.

I have made a total of 2 transfers all season so far and it seems to be paying off having a stable team. I know I could have something like 100 points more had I been luckier with my team selection and my captain but sometimes you just have players on the bench who score 10 and then you look at your team and there ia this one player with 1 point or so.
  • I dreamed I had a stable team once ;phew

Injuries and suspensions never seem far away. I then lean on the impetuous side of things ;wahoo can't seem to help it

The most obvious statement of the weekend to follow...

    I love transfers!!! ;biggrin
  • I'm going to say, now the new windows open for GW transfers, that I wont make any TFs this week (unless someone gets injured).

    Ok, maybe just one ;whistle
  • Well bringing in Hazard and Alonso against goalless Palace at a cost of 8 points ( replaced Eriksen who scored and kept a clean sheet + Kolasinac who decided he was fit to play after all) didnt go as hoped!

#slight grumble tempered by Tammy and Sterling
  • A very mixed picture across my 3 teams.

But once averaged out, all averagely bad ;weep
  • Ooh, a few shockers in the league ;nonono
  • Hart was my most effective attacking player.
