I made 3 TFs for GW38 to take it to 92. Had to get rid of Costa ;deadhorse and Alonso ( theyll probably play this week after being rested ;doh ) and put players in I thought would be highly likely to play
Llorente - Home, in form, requiring only one TF (which will appeal to you) WBA will not be daunted by his prowess in the air though Origi - Same sort of price but if Firmino recovers he'll be benched Benteke- Up against Man Utd reserves and kids Giroud - In decent scoring mode whether on bench first or starting before Welbeck
I'd want a player who's likely to play 90 minutes against weaker opposition so Benteke would be my choice if I had your budget ( I have Jesus, Kane and Aguero up top ;wahoo)
You'd have to make 2 TFs though and the obvious out is Luiz as there's every chance he may not even play.
Bring in someone like Matip/Lovren who will both play and are a threat at set pieces. Then you have the Benteke money
Wenger seems to be swapping them about a lot. At least Giroud seems to score. I guess a question of who he thinks will do better against Williams and Jagielka?
Didnt want season to end. 371 points in last 3 GWs = storming finish and chuffed to get up to 3rd in the table (and ignore the H2H showing of course... WTG Ham!! )
You really shot up the table in the final phase ;clap
Well done hamstew, too. And the League winner who I don't know if they post on here. ;star ;star
I'm hoping to do better next season. Too many poor selection decisions on my part (high scores left on the bench) plus captains underperforming). I will be ruthless next season. No more Mrs Nice Guy ;deadhorse
From memory (checked earlier in the season) I lost 8 of my first 13 H2H! Steadily improved to a point where I was easily in the hunt for top3 to top5 and then bombed again (whilst strangely scoring really well in the last few gameweeks - notably losing a H2H with 169 points! )
Between GW1 and GW25 I was always in the million to 2 million score range. So a great end 13 GWs saw me go up every week apart from 1
Similarly to Mrs Greys comments, I'd like to think I've learned a couple of things from this season and I'll be better in the H2H league next season. At the end of the day though, we all need some consistent good luck and judgment with captains and bench players etc.
I look at the very top scoring players squads vs my own plus believe my own teams of the last half of the season are stronger in starting line up and squad depth (because of the 108 million helping of course). To be up there though you have to time those in and outs almost perfectly week in/week out, be lucky when one of your players is omitted and have a good scoring sub virtually every time when it does happen. In my case, making less transfers may help too ;whistle
As I would imagine Mrs Grey (from last seasons exploits) will most likely confirm, that combination of good TF choices, team selection/bench order, good fortune/luck all have to be consistently in place virtually every GW for us to challenge. It's great when it comes off and so typical when it doesnt ;doh Its an amazing game and also periodically an extremely frustrating one!
I think that's the first time I've broken the 2000 point mark for a season in my 7 years playing the game. So have to be pleased with that. Top 4 in head to head. Top 12 in WHU606 league. Top 450,000 overall. 53.58 gameweek point average.
Well done all for playing. Well done Ham and well done Baz for all your insights.
Last couple of seasons (at least) I've used my wildcard in GW2 which hasnt exactly helped ;hmm
A combination of belief certain players would play/progress/do as well as previous season (e.g. Martial + Mahrez) lots of injuries and maybe being seduced by those exotic new players too (e.g Mkhitaryan ;whistle
Those are definitely areas I could improve on.
Will try to be a little wiser and less cavalier (at least for a bit until Bazfer fever breaks out)
My strategy of saving my chips for DGWs, while sensible on the face of it, doesn't necessarily pay off.
Partly because by the later stages of the season (when the DGWs kick in) managers rotate their squads. Leaving key players out for fatigue reasons or to save them for Cup game. Pep, I'm looking at you ;angry
So apart from the 'full on' dgw (of which there is always one) next season I will be playing my chips when I think I've got a good team with good fixtures.
Comments
Need a good week to secure my top 10 place.
;hmm

But will you go crazy and make TWO TFS ;hmm
#simple
Moyes ;deadhorse ;deadhorse
I nipped in under the wire and spent 4 points to get King out.
#demobhappy

Of course I had no idea that I had won due to the dodgy app.
What do I win? ;whistle
It's been good fun though.

So, with next season in mind, do you feel lucky

;bowdown
So for next season we all know what we need to hit each week to win it! ;wink
Last 7 GW's I averaged 91though
